Agadir to Marrakech
Your driver will pick you up from Agadir airport and take you directly to your accommodation in Marrakech. It's about a 3.5-hour drive, so you'll have time to settle in and rest after your journey.

- Day 2
Marrakech
After breakfast, a local guide leads you through Marrakech's UNESCO-listed Medina, walking narrow alleyways lined with vibrant markets and traditional shops. You'll see Djemaa el-Fna square with its street performers, check out the ornate Bahia Palace with its intricate tilework, and wander through spice markets where vendors sell saffron, cumin, and other herbs. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace, so you can head back to any souks that caught your eye or grab lunch at a local riad.

High Atlas Mountains - Boumalne Dades
You'll leave Marrakech early and cross the High Atlas Mountains, passing through small Berber villages and stopping at Tickha peak for mountain views. Then it's on to the 18th-century Telouet Kasbah, the former home of the powerful Glaoui family, before reaching Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed 17th-century fortress that's been used as a filming location for Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. After lunch near the Kasbah, the drive continues through Skoura and the Valley of Roses to Boumalne Dades, where you'll have dinner and sleep.

Merzouga Desert
After breakfast, head to Todra Gorge near Tinghir to see the dramatic canyon walls and river flowing through it. From there, pass through Erfoud and Rissani to experience local life and culture before reaching the desert edge. You'll either ride a camel or take a 4WD into Morocco's highest pink sand dunes and explore at your own pace, then watch the sunset from the dunes. Dinner is Moroccan food cooked over a campfire with live music and drumming lessons, and you'll sleep in Berber tents under the stars where the Milky Way and shooting stars are often visible.

Merzouga to Fes
Today's a long drive to Fes, starting through Errachidia and the Ziz Valley. You'll pass through Midelt, a market town surrounded by farmland, then enter Cedar forests where the rare Barbary macaque lives. Later, you'll reach Ifrane with its unusual alpine-style architecture and ski slopes, where you can see the famous lion statue carved into the hillside. You should arrive in Fez by early evening.
