Communication, organization during the trip and our tour guide were very, very good. Many thanks to the team (Mohamed, Ibordat, Muna, Lola and our driver). The accommodations were all in excellent locations, close to the old towns and attractions and were clean and comfortable. Transport by car, train and plane was very well organized. David· August 12th, 2025Couldn't have asked for a better tour. Was wonderfully and very smoothly organized with very engaging, dedicated, and knowledgeable guides and an itinerary that was both very comprehensive and also struck a good balance with giving enough free time to explore and relax as well. A particular highlight was Khiva, with its still preserved yet living inner city, it feels like you are still walking in the city as it was and as lively as it was during the Silk Road era, making it a particularly unique experience from Samarqand and Bukhara. Being able to stay in an old madrasa converted into a hotel in the inner city of Khiva was a very exciting culmination of the trip through the historic cities. The organizers are incredibly responsive, flexible and experienced which made for a very pleasant first time in Uzbekistan.Show more

Tomas· November 30th, 2024The itinerary was intense and compact and covered the many places of interest in a relatively short time. There was sufficient time for taking in the sights and ample time to do your own things and to rest. Accommodations provided were very near or right next to the sights and thus driving around was reduced to a minimum. Vehicles provided were very good with lots of leg room.Show moreTrip date: November 2024

Traveler•Written February 2025I'm booking BOTH tours, so thanks! I realize you have a one that combines both, but I don't want to go to Turkmenistan due to the border crossing hassles I've read about.

Traveler•Written February 2025I picked this one instead of the "boutique" because it mentions the possibility of a yurt stay for one night, which I'd enjoy, if possible, but if no one else wants to (or if everyone else signs up for the "boutique" option), I'm okay with switching to it. Bottom line, I'd rather be traveling with others than by myself.
Steppe JourneysOperator•Written February 2025we will discuss it with the other members of the group and if some more want to stay in Yurt we will arrange a night there.
