Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu

    You'll arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport where someone from Asian Heritage meets you and takes you to your hotel. After settling in, meet with a representative to go over what you'll be doing during your stay. From there, the rest of the day is yours to wander around Thamel's bustling streets and get a feel for the city at your own pace.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu to Nepalgunj

    Your rep picks you up from the hotel early and drives you to the airport for a domestic flight heading to Nepalgunj. During the flight you'll see snow-capped mountains spread out below you. Once you land, someone transfers you to your lodge where you have free time to check out the town on your own.

  3. Day 3

    Nepalgunj to Jumla to Padmara Trek

    Head to Nepalgunj airport early for your flight to Jumla, the main administrative hub for the Karnali Zone. Your trek kicks off toward Padmara, walking through river confluences and pine forests. You'll pass through Dansanhu and Urtus on the way to your lodge for the night.

  4. Day 4

    Padmara to Bumra Trek

    Trek towards Burma along the Ghurseni stream and climb to Khali Langa (11,631 ft/3545m), the first major pass about 4 kilometers from Padmara. You'll cut through dense forest and cross a log bridge over Sinja Khola, then climb up to Bumra where you'll spend the night.

  5. Day 5

    Bumra to Pine Trek

    After a good breakfast, trek along the river for roughly 1.5 hours to reach Bhargaon at 9,482 ft/2890m. Cross several tributary streams using log bridges, climb to Chautha, and walk through quiet meadows toward Pine. Later you'll navigate a narrow gorge on the northeast slope before arriving at your lodge.

  6. Day 6

    Pine to Rara Lake Trek

    From Pine you'll head up a steep north-facing slope after breakfast, cross into a flat meadow, then climb to Jhari (8,202 ft/2500m) which takes around 2 hours. Continue west along a ridge to a low pass, then come down to the south meadows of Rara Lake. Finish with a 2-hour walk to Rara village on the lake's north shore.

  7. Day 7

    Rara Lake

    Spend your day around Rara Lake, which is Nepal's largest at about 5 km long and 3 km wide and sits inside Rara National Park surrounded by green hills and forests. Hike up to Chuchemara Danda at 13,411 ft/4087m for views of the lake and peaks beyond. Back at camp you can rest and recharge.

  8. Day 8

    Rara Lake to Ghorasain Trek

    Leave Rara Lake after breakfast and trek downstream along Khatyar Gad for about an hour. Cross via a log bridge on the south side and climb through dense forest until the trees thin out. Walk along the ridge heading south through remote mountain terrain, then take a steep descent from the ridge's east side down to Ghorasain.

  9. Day 9

    Ghorasain to Sinja Trek

    Trek from Ghorasain toward Sinja after breakfast. Descend into the valley to Botan at 9,498 ft/2895m, then climb to Diyabala Ridge where you can see panoramic views across the landscape. From Diyabale Danda head to the high fields of Lumsa and come down to Okharpati village sitting on a high shelf above Mindrabali Gad. The final descent to Sinja village takes about 2 hours.

  10. Day 10

    Sinja to Chere Chaur Trek

    Start your trek toward Chere Chaur by crossing a log bridge over Sinja Khola heading east. Follow Jaljale Gad's bank for a bit, then climb over a ridge at 9,383 ft/2865m. Head downhill until you reach Jumla's administrative center, then walk one more kilometer to reach Chere Chaur.

  11. Day 11

    Chere Chaur to Jumla

    Trek through the alpine pasture of Chere Chaur which gives you views of Jumla town, Tila Valley, and Chyakhure Hill. After several hours of walking, you'll get to Jumla and check into your lodge. Later you can relax and walk around the scenic area.

  12. Day 12

    Jumla to Kathmandu

    Your trek ends today. Travel to Jumla airport for your flight to Nepalgunj, then catch a connecting flight to Kathmandu. When you land in Kathmandu, someone drives you to your hotel, bringing your adventure through western Nepal to a close.

    Departure from Kathmandu

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before February 13th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after February 13th, 2026, a minimum payment of 20% is required to confirm your booking with Asian Heritage Treks & Expeditions. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
