Itinerary
- Day 1
Tashkent to Bukhara
Hotel pickup in Tashkent gets you to the railway station or airport for your journey to Bukhara. Once there, you'll start with Laby Hauz and move through the trade domes, then check out the ancient Jewish quarter. The Ark Citadel comes next, followed by the Kalyan Minaret and Mosque. Your day wraps up at the mausoleums of Ismail Samani and Cashmai Ayub to get a feel for the city's historic core.

Bukhara
After breakfast, head to Sitorai Mohi Hosa Summer Palace where local and Russian-European architecture blend together across a large garden and harem area. From there, continue to the mausoleum and necropolis of Bahauddin Naqshabandiy. You'll return to your hotel with time to relax, and if you're interested, there's the option to visit a traditional hammam or catch an evening folk music and dance show.

Bukhara to Samarkand via Shahrisabz
Today's a travel day to Samarkand, heading through Shahrisabz first (290 km total, plus 90 km more). In Shahrisabz, you'll see the Ak Saray Palace ruins, Jahongir's mausoleum, and Juma mosque. Afternoon brings a drive through the Zarafshan mountains valley before arriving in Samarkand around evening. You'll have free time to walk to Registan square, and if the schedule works, a sound and light laser show typically runs at 9 PM with tickets available when you arrive.

Samarkand
Start at Gur Emir mausoleum, the burial site of Amir Temur and his family. Next comes Registan square with its three madrasas from the 15th-17th centuries, Ulughbek Madrasa, Sherdor Madrasah, and Tilla Sheikh mosque. You'll walk through Siab Bazar and visit Bibihanum mosque. The rest of the evening is yours to explore and grab dinner at one of the traditional chayhanas scattered around the city.

Samarkand to Tashkent
Buffet breakfast starts your day, then you'll visit Ulughbek's Observatory and the Afrosiab museum with its frescoes and artifacts from the ancient settlement (6 BC-13 AD). Shahi Zinda is next, a holy site with mausoleums of Temur's sisters, generals, architects, and Kusam Ibn Abbas. Stop by the famous Samarkand Silk Paper workshop before heading to the railway station for your evening train back to Tashkent.

You'll tour Tashkent's old town, visiting the Hasti Imam complex with its 7th-century Osman Quran, the Barakhan madrasa, and Chorsu bazar. The Applied Arts museum and Tashkent metro round out your city exploration to see the mix of old and modern architecture.
