Itinerary
- Day 1Reykjavik to KirkjubajarklausturYour pickup happens at 09:00 from central Reykjavik, then you're heading out to tackle the Golden Circle. Thingvellir National Park comes first, where you'll walk between tectonic plates and see the rift valley. After that, the Geysir Geothermal Area is next on the route, and you'll watch Strokkur shoot water into the air roughly every 10 minutes. The waterfalls come after, starting with Gullfoss and then Seljalandsfoss, where you can actually walk behind the water for a different view. From there, it's the drive south toward Vik and your hotel in Kirkjubakarklaustur. If you're traveling in winter, keep your eyes open for Northern Lights once evening arrives. - Day 2KirkjubajarklausturThis morning begins at Diamond Beach with its black sands, then you head to Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon to see icebergs that broke off from Vatnajokull Glacier. Depending on the season, your activities change here. Winter visitors get to hike on the glacier itself and explore an ice cave, while summer visitors head to the Katla ice cave near Vik instead and do a 5km hike out to Svartifoss Waterfall. After these activities, you'll return to your hotel with another chance to catch Northern Lights if you're there during winter months. - Meals

- Day 3Kirkjubajarklaustur to ReykjavikYou're leaving the hotel and heading back toward Reykjavik, but there are several stops along the way if conditions allow. Fjadrargljufur Canyon is one possibility, then the dramatic lava field at Eldhraun, and Reynisfjara Beach with its black sands and basalt columns standing offshore. Skogafoss waterfall is your last major stop, and there's a 527-step climb available if you want to reach the top of this 60m drop for views toward Eyjafjallajokull volcano. You should arrive back in Reykjavik between 16:00 and 19:00, wrapping up your tour. - Meals
