Itinerary
- Day 1
Bucharest
Your English-speaking guide picks you up at Moxa Boutique Hotel in central Bucharest and you'll head out to Snagov. There you visit Snagov Monastery, a monastic complex situated on an island in Snagov Lake where Vlad is said to have been buried. The day wraps up with a welcome dinner at one of Bucharest's traditional restaurants, giving you a chance to settle in and try some local food.

Bucharest to Sibiu
You drive toward Sibiu with a stop in Curtea de Arges to see the famous monastery and hear about the legend surrounding Master Manole, its builder. Later you arrive in Sibiu, a well-preserved fortified town with strong German cultural roots dating back to medieval times. Spend the evening walking through the streets and checking out the architecture that made this place a cultural center for centuries.

Sibiu to Cluj-Napoca
After breakfast at 8:00 AM, you head out from Sibiu toward Hunedoara to visit Corvinesti Castle, a major Gothic-style fortress built in the 14th century. From there, you continue to Turda to explore one of Romania's oldest salt mines. There's a vampire-themed dinner and the Ritual of Killing of the Living Dead before you arrive in Cluj-Napoca around 22:00, so expect a late check-in.

Cluj-Napoca to Bistrita
Start with a city tour of Cluj-Napoca that covers medieval buildings including Saint Andrews Cathedral. Then you drive to Bistrita, following the Dracula novel's route from Bram Stoker's story where Jonathan Harker traveled. You'll stay at the Golden Crown Hotel, a fitting connection to the literary journey you're on.

Bistrita to Sighisoara
You travel to Sighisoara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Europe's best-preserved fortified cities still inhabited today. Founded by Saxons in the 12th century, it has the Clock Tower from 1360 with museum access and views from the top, a Torture Room with medieval instruments, and Medieval Weapon Collections to see. The Church of the Dominican Monastery features renaissance carvings and a baroque pulpit. You stay in a 3-star hotel right in the medieval citadel itself.

Sighisoara to Brasov
You visit Bran Castle, known both for its architecture and its connection to Dracula stories, with documented history back to 1377. After that, you move on to Brasov, a medieval Saxon city where the Black Church stands as the largest gothic structure in South-Eastern Europe. Your hotel is centrally located and rated 3-stars, putting you in the middle of everything.

Brasov to Bucharest
In the morning you drive to Sinaia, known as the pearl of mountain resorts in Romania, to see Peles Castle built in 1873. The castle features 160 rooms decorated with leather and wood from rare trees and ranks among Europe's best-preserved royal residences. Later you continue to Targoviste to see the ruins of Vlad Tepes old court before arriving back in Bucharest after 7:00 pm, with hotel drop-off included.
