Itinerary
- Day 1
Cairo
You'll arrive at Cairo airport where a driver meets you for the transfer to your hotel. Once you check in, the rest of the day is yours to settle in and get oriented to the city. It's a good time to rest after your flight and maybe take a walk around the hotel area if you're not too tired.
- Day 2
Cairo
This morning you'll join a guided tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which holds over 100,000 artifacts from ancient Egypt including King Tutankhamun's treasures and royal mummies. After that, you'll head to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo to see statues, jewelry, sarcophagi, and well-preserved mummies on display. By afternoon you'll head back to the hotel where you can relax by the pool or grab a quiet moment before dinner.

Cairo to Aswan
You'll travel to Giza Plateau to see the pyramids and Sphinx up close, including the Great Pyramid of Cheops. There's an option to walk inside one of the pyramids if you want that experience, and you'll have time to explore on foot around the area. In the afternoon, you can either relax by the pool at your hotel or wander around Cairo on your own. Later that evening, you'll board an overnight sleeper train heading to Aswan, so pack light for the journey.

Aswan
You'll arrive in Aswan this morning and take a boat out to Agilika Island to visit Philae Temple with its carved hieroglyphics and columns. After that, there's a stop at a perfume oil shop if you want to pick up some local scents. The afternoon is completely free to relax by the hotel pool or wander around town on your own. Come evening, you'll head to the Aswan market where vendors sell herbs and spices, and you can take in the local sights and sounds of the trading area.

Aswan
A motorboat takes you out to Seheil Island where you'll walk around to see archaeological sites scattered across the landscape. If the local school is open, there's a chance to visit and see how kids are educated there. Back at the water, you'll have lunch and spend family time on a traditional felucca sailing boat. The afternoon gives you a choice: stay relaxed at the hotel or join an optional trip to the Nubian Museum, which holds over 3,000 artifacts and scale models from ancient Egyptian history.

Aswan to Luxor
You'll cross the Nile by motorboat to reach the west bank, then climb onto a camel for a desert ride heading toward the 7th century Monastery of St Simeon. After exploring this ancient religious site, you'll travel toward Luxor and stop along the way at Kom Ombo Temple, which sits on the riverbank with a symmetrical design dedicated to the falcon god Horus and the crocodile god Sobek. You'll reach Luxor by late afternoon and check into your hotel there.

Luxor
This morning focuses on Luxor's West Bank where pharaohs were buried. You'll visit the Valley of the Kings with its carved underground tombs, see Queen Hatshepsut's temple with its impressive colonnades, and stand before the massive Colossi of Memnon statues. After lunch, you'll head to Karnak Temple to walk through the Hypostyle Hall with its towering columns and the long Avenue of Sphinxes. You'll return to the hotel in time to rest, and if you're interested, there's an option to see Luxor Temple lit up beautifully after dark.
