The tour "4 Days Village to Village Hiking Tour (Bukhara -Samarkand, Uzbekistan) - Organizer: Responsible Travel" in September was well guided and the area beautiful for hiking. A donkey carries the big luggage. The mountains are very dry and dusty and the sun is blazing. The villages are on the river, there are trees for shade. Depending on your athleticism, the day trips might be a bit longer. Unfortunately, neither the guide nor the host families speak English, so little communication and explanations about the country and its people are possible. Without a guide you will get lost, because there are no signs or paths! The food is a bit one-sided, but okay. Even if the region and the hikes are beautiful, I find price-performance rather expensive.
