I am 73 years. In addition to my regular workouts, last fall I went hiking with my daughter in Colorado at altitudes up to 12, 500 feet. I also plan to hike with her this summer on Mt Ebert - 14,443 ft. And I will be spending 2 months prior to the April EBC trek (Jan-Feb) in Cuenca, Ecuador (8,800 ft) with hikes up around 14,000 ft in the Andes. Will I be able to participate in this trek, or do you recommend otherwise.

    • Himalayan Planet AdventuresOperatorWritten February 2025

You are welcome and as you will be acclimatizing prior to Everest Base Camp trek, you will most likely be able to do the trek as the maximum altitude is approx. 18,500 ft at Kalapathar. Also, the trek is managed with well acclimatization in mind. So, you will likely have no problem. But we can never be 100% sure as well trekking experts sometimes feel sick in higher altitudes. And if any of these problems do occur, our team will be there to take care of you.
