- Marta· September 3rd, 2024Amazing experience. Well organized tour with fabulous guides ( Sigga & Snypes) that quickly reacted when the weather has changed and plans needed to be adjusted. The route is beyond beautiful.Show moreTrip date: August 2024
- FBFlorian· August 27th, 2024This was the last trip of the season. there were 2 feet of snow on the mountain and it was known that Noro virus had infec ted many guests on the cabins. The sanitary conditions in the first hut were dismal, there were latrine style and very smelly toilets. In the second hut, the sower was only lke warm, which was uncomfortable considering the icy cold wind. Some of our members had to double- bunk with strangers. The food was not bad. In our group of 16, there were very different levels of mountaineering experience and fitness. Our tour guide was always in the front, not knowing how some opf the weaker guest were struggling. There should have been two guide, one in the front and one on the back, especially considering the treacherous blizzard conditions. In my opinion, this trek should have had: 2 guides, Much better and safer sanitary conditions of toilets and cooking facilities Guests should have been given the option to cancel the trek, considering the blizzard conditions and the known outbreak of Noro virus. The number of guest should have been limited to 10. The rescue and infectious teams were not equipped to handle on outbreak of Noro virus.Show moreIcelandic Mountain Guides commented on this reviewThank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent trek with us. - MWMarina· September 14th, 2022The hike was beautiful and very well organized. Our guide - Yonn - did an amazing job of keeping a large group organized and coordinated. His attention to detail, description of locations, local history and knowledge was a great added value. Food was delicious and satisfying. Would suggest limiting group size as we were a large group. Also, the description on tour radar could have more accurately described the hike - providing elevation/topograhic profiles to show the terrain would have been helpful. Despite some challenging weather - would definitely do this again. Have already recommended it to many people! This trek was a wonderful way to see some rugged and beautiful landscape and really get away from it all.Show moreTrip date: August 2022

Asked on January 8th, 2024Three questions 1. I am booked for 23/6 for this trek what average daily mileage do we cover ? 2. My soft bag has small wheels is that suitable for the bag to use to transport between huts.? 3 is there any facility to leave luggage at start of trek so we can downsize our trek packing?
- Icelandic Mountain GuidesOperator•Written January 2024
We do note that as the huts are limited with space, it is best for you to have a softshell case on the trail to assist with both transfer and storage in the huts. Wheels are not ideal as due to the terrain of the landscapes, these could get damaged if wheeling it in and out of the huts. Luggage Lockers as well as some hotels can store excess luggage when you are on tour.

Traveler•Written April 2024I have just read the above on another blog from Different company does this also describe the trek I have booked please.
- Icelandic Mountain GuidesOperator•Written April 2024
On the 24th June, we start the tour by taking the bus from Reykjavik to Landmannalaugar, giving your main luggage to our transfer vehicle team in the city before departure. You will then meet up with your bag at Hrafntinnusker hut which is a 12KM walk (7.5mile) from Landmannalaugar. You will be carrying your day bag each day, in which you will have your lunch, refreshments and other items such as river shoes/jacket/extra layers etc. We then continue each day with 4-7/8 hours of hiking with Day 4 as the longest day on our trip, which is 19KM (12 miles) in length, but is a descent the full way making an easier hike.
