- NNNiamh· September 14th, 2022Overall this tour was brilliant. I met some really amazing people and saw some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever laid eyes on in my life. I got to switch off from the monotony of day to day life and hike the legs off myself, pushing myself to my absolute fitness limits - which is exactly what I wanted from the trip. There wasn't too much time spent driving to our hikes which was great. There was obviously no expense spared when it came to the food provided for us and we ate really well throughout. The tour guides were super knowledgeable and generally a lot of fun - Morgan in particular made the trip for me by just being her crazy (in a good way) self. she was extremely kind and looked after us all so well. We all had some really great laughs and I will genuinely never forget the experience. As with almost anything, I believe there are some areas I would suggest could be improved upon, but I will address that privately with Fresh Adventures. It was a bit intense at times with the amount and length of hikes....not an issue itself, but we were not encouraged to stop and take photos - or we wouldn't reach our destination in time! A bit of an issue because, afterall, some of us might never see these views again. The itinerary changed considerably from the original reservation and we were not notified of this until a few days before the trip - should have known well ahead, giving us the option of choice, for ex, some of us might have counted on going to Jasper or taking the gondola - which was all on the original itinerary. Hiking boots are definitely required, although the departure info stated they were not. Itinerary said even beginners could do this trip - definitely not true. I am 73yrs old hiker and managed to do the hikes, but beginners certainly could not. It's unfair to advertise it in such a manner. The intensity of the hikes was never made clear and the original info gave the indication that we would see the major sites with a fair balance between hiking and down time. Some of these are administrative issues. The leaders were wonderful overall - but a bit intense at times. Felt a little like bootcamp! Bit of a bucket list item so to speak I will be 56 and my son will be 19. Currently trying to get a list of options and ideas around cost.

That being said, you can definitely do the best trekking and some great horseback riding on this tour with us, and I would be happy to help you find an excellent option for a kayaking trip. For our 12 day rockies tour it would be $3995 cad, plus 5% taz per person. With this tour you will explore all the best hiking trails in the Rockies, while not having to carry everything on your back. There are a few options where you can go for some sweet horseback rides to explore the mountains in a different way too. I can help you plan a trip to the coast where you can easily do some kayaking after your tour with us.
