- PBPenni· August 9th, 2023We expected 1st class service for the price of this trip and it was NOT. And it didn't include airfare. We did this trip july 2023. The only great thing about the trip was bear camp. Very very DISORGANIZED. We have traveled a lot and this is by far the WORST trip. There's so much more i could say, but for now i won't.Show moreTrip date: July 2023

Asked on May 23rd, 2025What are prices of optional activities? On which days are there guided hikes available without charge? How many hours each day or spent in a vehicle? Ex of some restaurants where we might be eating dinner, incl those not included?
- BrushBuck Wildlife ToursOperator•Written May 2025
The longest that we spend in a vehicle is about 5-6 hours, but there will be many breaks and opportunities to stop and stretch legs and view wildlife! Everything in Alaska is pretty far apart. The only meals included on this trip are breakfast. For dinner, our guests are on their own for dinner. Sometimes, they choose to make reservations together and other times, guests want to go on their own. It just depends on the group. Our groups are small, we only have up to 8 guests on the 9 day trip and 10 guests on the 5 day trip.

Asked on March 6th, 2024Does this trip include Brooks Falls in Katmai? If it doesn't do you have any that do?
- BrushBuck Wildlife ToursOperator•Written March 2024
We do not go to Katmai because it is way to crowded and you wait in long lines to get on the platform and only get a few minutes on there to see the bears. What we do is so much better and an intimate way to see bears. We take a sea plane out to Lake Clark National Park and there you will get the opportunity to see lots of bears with only a handful of people. When we are at the lodge, you will get 3 home cooked meals a day with the freshest food from Alaska! Last summer, we saw 40 bears at one time! It is always the highlight of our trip and I can guarantee you you will never forget it!!!

Traveler•Written March 2024Thank You so much for checking back with me. I don't think that we will be able to do this trip this year. I do think that your smaller groups are ideal. Hopefully summer of 2025!

Asked on September 14th, 2023what are the best months for whale sightings?
- BrushBuck Wildlife ToursOperator•Written September 2023
Alaska's peak whale season is usually May-September. However, we see most whales June-July and some in early August. On our tour, we see the whales outside of Seward.

Asked on June 6th, 2023what airplane flights do we pay for? what meals and liquor do you cover. what deposit and when is it due
- BrushBuck Wildlife ToursOperator•Written June 2023
You would pay for a round trip ticket to Anchorage. The internal flight out to Lake Clark National Park is covered by BrushBuck. Breakfast is covered on all days but Day 1, and there are 4 lunches and 3 dinners also included. We require 50% down and 50% due 90 days before departure but since the season has started, we will require 50% down and the balance 30 days before departure.

Asked on March 27th, 2023When is the best times to come and see the bears.
- BrushBuck Wildlife ToursOperator•Written March 2023
The best time to see the bears is mid June to early July. In this time frame, you will see cubs with their Moms which is amazing to watch. You will see plenty of bears on this trip and if you stick to Mid to late June, you will have a great chance to see the Orca whales when you are in Seward.

Asked on February 1st, 2023How many people on tour and s transportation by motor coach or train and motor coach and train, other than flights
- BrushBuck Wildlife ToursOperator•Written February 2023
We have 8-10 people on each tour. The tour starts in Anchorage where we will pick you up from your hotel the morning the tour starts. We normally use a 10-15 passenger van for the trip. If you are interested in a train ride, you can take the train back to Anchorage at the end of the trip.

Asked on July 14th, 2022I'm super interested in the Alaskan adventure! Sounds right up my alley for fun! Do cell phones have service anywhere on this trip? Like at the hotel/lodging? Just curious.
- BrushBuck Wildlife ToursOperator•Written August 2022
This is a great trip for lone travelers and we commonly have women join this trip as a solo. Cell phone service is available in most areas on this trip. The only place where there's no cell service is out at Bear Mountain Lodge, but there is Wifi available.
