- Jason· February 7th, 2023I came to Peru during the rainy season and against the backdrop of the political instability frenzy where road blocks, ceasation of public transportation and sealing down of major places of interests. Weaving in the constant concerns that I may fail to reach the climax of the journey to touch the jewel of crown of Machu Picchu, Jimmy, my personal guide (since I was the ONLY traveller this time), used his experience, patience, consideration, local connections and knowledge to comprehensively turned a seemingly disastrous trip to a unique and most joyful one. We rode 80km on day one to bypassed the local road block; walked on the original inka trail and soaked in a hot spring at Cocalmayo on day 2; Ziplined cross coffeeriver on day 3 and rockclimed on putukusi, the mountain right in opposite of Machu Picchu on the final day 4 and took the most breathtaking photos of that sacred place despite the ugly shutting down by local authorities. Above all, I read through Jimmy’s actions to see how passionate about this land that he borne and lives; the legendary Inka culture and the circle of life given and taken of our Pachamama (earth home in Inka language). Like what Jimmy has expressed to me on the lookout point at Inka trail, what is to live, it has to be through feeling, sweating, struggling and some pains, in this nature, in the arms of Pachamama, that is really how it takes to define how we have really lived. To me that was really a transcendent experience. Thanks Jimmy, thanks Peru. Like they say in Inka, tupananchis kama!Show moreTrip date: February 2023
- Corinne· September 16th, 2022The tour itself was very very good - our guide Stif was amazing, so friendly and had such good energy. The biking / rafting / zip lining activities all felt very safe and the treks were excellent - the eco lodge stay in the jungle was a particular favourite of mine. I really cannot recommend Stif enough, he was wonderful! The company Conde Travel were slightly more difficult, whilst the tour mostly went off without a hitch, they didn’t get my Machu Picchu ticket in advance despite me booking well before leaving for Peru, so I had to queue for over 2 hours (waking up at 5am for a ticket for 9am) and missed the early and not busy view of the site. Also whilst most is included in the tour please note that the cable car / luggage transfer / drinks at meals are often not - none of these were big issues at all but something to note if you’re planning to book. The tour was very good and I would recommend it highly.Show moreTrip date: September 2022
