Regarding the itinerary, I wish we were able to see some of the Christmas markets at night. You don’t get the full experience when you only see them by day and miss out on all the lights at night. I wish we would have had more time to spend in Colmar and Strasbourg instead of being rushed to get back for dinner or either stayed somewhere closer to the markets so there was an option to go back after dinner on our own. I have a huge complaint about the hotel Mövenpick we stayed at our last night in Zurich. I was really disappointed Insight would choose a hotel of that caliber for us to stay in. It was very old and outdated. It was not the standard of hotel I would expect to stay in for the amount of money we paid for this trip and certainly didn’t compare to the quality of hotels we stayed in early in the trip. I was so grossed out by it that I contemplated paying out of pocket to get a hotel room somewhere else for the night. The room was extremely hot, the bed was lumpy, the pillows were flat. The carpet was stained, wallpaper pilling off the walls.Show more

Overall, the markets were mostly mass produced items. Much more time spent on the bus than actually doing anything planned. The horse drawn carriage ride was beautiful. Day in Zurich was a complete waste with quick walk through town with no audio. The Christmas market dubbed as the largest 3-story market, was one floor of markets at the train terminal. Hours to kill with no access to anything but these few booths and the regular airport-like stores downstairs. Then overnight at airport hotel that didn’t let you reserve airport shuttle. Others cut in front and you were left waiting outside for 20 minutes waiting for the next shuttle. Our complimentary arrival transfer is only available on the first day of the tour. If you choose to book an extra night before the start of the tour, we won't be able to provide the complimentary transfer. However, we can arrange for a chargeable arrival transfer. As for our cancellation policy, it is based on how far in advance you request to cancel your booking. The percentage of the cancellation penalty will depend on the specific booking conditions of the tour. For this trip, a deposit of $200 per person is required, with the final payment due 60 days before the start of the trip.
