The scenery was exceptional misty mountains with waterfalls & tea plantations, grassy forests full of wildlife it was great to see so many wild elephants thriving. The safari’s were a highlight and then we had the opportunity to release some turtles a moment we won’t forget. We enjoyed the culture, the food, the villages and the history. Our tour guide was fabulous he couldn’t do enough for us and was quite flexible, thank you so much Aruna we loved our Sri Lankan adventure!Show more

Also not happy when we asked him to show us a place where I could go for a massage that was specifically budget friendly. He took us to a place where I felt extreme pressure to have a massage which cost me $85!!!! We discovered a few days later the same massage for under $15!! Very unhappy about that, as being a Sri Lankan, he would have been well aware of the prices. It would have been impossible to see so many beautiful aspects and sights of Sri Lanka without our guide. Sometimes time is a little tight and it is sometimes exhausting, but of course there is no other way in two weeks. Some of the activities included in the package are very touristy and there are some additional costs during the trip. However, as our guide repeated several times, you are not forced to buy anything. Many people in Sri Lanka live from tourism. We would like to thank Janaka again for this wonderful vacation and the great memories. Only really spoke when spoken to & gave basic information but quite knowledgeable. Took us to little spots off the scheduled route & plenty of breaks during the long drives between locations. Overall satisfied & would recommend the tour if you don’t mind long periods in the car. The tour was very good, unfortunately due to lack wet season we missed a few things but we still saw so much and had a great experience. Usually independent travellers, we would not have chosen most of the hotels as they were quite loud (parties/music) and a long way from any town. Some were not the superior we paid extra for, I suspect because of the time of year. We could not swim at any of the four beach locations due to undertow x 2,/bad weather/not on the beach. I would definitely recommend this tour but I personally would book my own hotels that suit us best. However the care taken by Kani and the itinerary were outstanding.
