Itinerary

Day 1
Munich to Salzburg to Berchtesgaden
A private transfer takes you from Munich to Salzburg, where you'll have time for a quick city tour and some shopping. You'll then take part in an apple strudel making course, learning how to prepare this Austrian classic. After that comes a goulash dinner, and if you're interested, you can see the Krampus demons before heading to Berchtesgaden for hotel check-in. The rest of the evening is yours to relax or explore on your own.

Day 2
Berchtesgaden
Following breakfast at the hotel, you'll depart at 10:30 for the Bad Reichenhall salt mine, heading 150 meters underground to see how salt was historically mined. Lunch takes place at the Salt Mine restaurant, then it's on to the Grassl Enzian Schnapps Factory for a tour and tasting of this local specialty. In the afternoon, you'll watch the country Krampus march coming down from the mountains, these versions being wilder than their city counterparts. Evening brings dinner and drinks at Hofbräu Brewery, followed by time wandering through Berchtesgaden's Christmas Market and watching the Krampus Marches.

Berchtesgaden to Königsee to Munich
After packing up, you'll head to Königsee lake to enjoy fresh mountain air and catch some of the World Cup Bobsled track events. From there, it's a return journey to Munich, arriving by 2:00 p.m. for drop-off at Hotel Eden Wolf, ending your trip.

  Do you cap the number of tour participants? I just don't want to be involved in a huge group like some tour companies do. 14-ish sounds great. My birthday is December 6th...this would be a hilarious way to celebrate! What else would you like for me to know about this tour package?

  We do cap the group at 14 maximum. It is a very laid back tour. We like to set up a few zoom calls before hand to make sure everyone is on the same page. Then we meet up in Munich downtown for dinner and walking tour on the evening of the 4th. The 5th we make our way to Berchtesgaden. We also go to Salzburg for one evening so you can experience two different versions of Christmas markets and of Krampus. We also head into the Salt Mine which is really cool!
