- JAJoan· October 28th, 2024This was a bucket list trip for my husband and it did not disappoint. Everything was set up for us and we had so much fun. Ken and his crew were friendly and welcoming.Show moreThirsty Swagman commented on this reviewThank you so much Joan & Mark, that's great to hear you had such a good time with us at the Munich Oktoberfest. - Samantha· October 25th, 2024Thank you to Kenneth and the entire crew at Thirsty Swagman. Back in 2022, my siblings and I decided a family trip to Germany (our fathers family is of German heritage) and stumbled upon Thirsty Swagman Tours for Oktoberfest. From our initial inquiry, juggling multiple bookings, a few changes, and endless questions, Kenneth and his team were amazing. Everything, I mean everything, went off without a hitch. We opted for the Le Meridien hotel, mid-week package. The hotel was great; comfortable rooms, fantastic breakfast, and very close to the festival grounds. The beer tents were so much fun; great music, fabulous atmosphere, delicious food. Having everything arranged for us made it soooo much more enjoyable. As my family's travel planber and my background in travel/meeting planning, I understand just how much goes into an event such as this. And we are so grateful for everything Kenneth and the Thirsty Swagman Tours did to endure a memorable experience was had by all. Until next time, Prost!Show moreTrip date: October 2024
- SBStan· October 18th, 2024This was the trip of a lifetime and Thirsty Swagman took all of the guesswork out of the experience! We customized our trip to add on a few extra days in the beginning at the Munich hotel. We also customize to add a couple of nights at Stuttgart. All this was handled very professionally and very easily. They provided excellent information and recommendations and made this trip one of the best experiences we have ever had! Shout out to Kenneth and Ashley for making sure we enjoyed everything! Be sure to read Ashley’s blogs if you have never been there before.Show moreThirsty Swagman commented on this reviewThank you Stan for your fantastic feedback and review, it is much appreciated! Glad to hear you had such a great time with us at Oktoberfest in Munich and the Stuttgart Beer festival. Hope we can raise another beer or 3 somewhere some day. Prost!Trip date: October 2024
- jennifer· October 17th, 2024THE BEST! Worth your time and money. Book it- we have attended twice with Kenneth and his crew and it's a 10 star review. No boring sightseeing is right! Enjoy the Octoberfest with professional tour guides that are down to Earth, easy to talk with, and answer all your questions about the most popular festival in the . We stayed at Le Meriden and couldn't book any other stay. .we loved it that much. 5 star accommodations, and sooo close to the festivities. Besides the fact your passing everyone up waiting to get into the tents, your given food vouchers and drink vouchers for your booking. It includes a fun goodie swag bag, and an awesome token ( book the trip so you see what it is!) To take home! If you don't want to worry about getting into a tent, finding a table...this is the way to go. We will back for sure in 2026! Thanks Kenneth and your crew for making it ridiculously easy to cheer and prost !!! Jennifer and Gary Brown Thirsty Swagman guestsShow moreTrip date: September 2024
- CRCindy· October 8th, 2024What a wonderful experience! Kenneth and his staff were amazing to work with, both in preparing for the trip and after we arrived there. With their help and expertise, the event was everything we had hoped for and then some. Le Meridien was a beautiful hotel. We enjoyed the courtyard, the lounge, the dining room and the nicely appointed rooms. Ken's advice for walking to the Sunday parade and getting back on time was spot on. Leading us to the Oktoberfest grounds and to our reserved seating was probably the primary reason for using this company, but as it turned out, it was just icing on the cake. I will let our local travel agency know that they can wholeheartedly recommend Thirsty Swagman to future clients. (I had asked them if they thought this company was legit.) Thank you again for a great time. Prost!Show moreTrip date: October 2024
- AAli· October 2nd, 2024The tour was fine but that’s all. It wasn’t anything we couldn’t have done on our own (with the exception of making the hotel reservations which are already sold out a year in advance). We were asked to leave at 1915 due to our son’s age (9) after multiple emails to the tour organizer regarding the presence of kids with us. When I asked him abt that he said “it’s been a long time since we had kids that young.” I’d have thought for the $$ we paid he’d have looked into this beforehand. He basically said “oh well” and took our money. The first day of “reservations” the beer hall was almost empty and we could have sat anywhere. Instead the tour was in the balcony overlooking an empty beer hall (wow). Again, nothing very impressive about this tour.Show moreThirsty Swagman commented on this reviewHi Ali, Firstly you didn't even book any package at this hotel, we do not book families with kid there. The children were asked to leave at 8pm, which is a policy of all Oktoberfest beer tents - this was emailed to you prior to booking and it is not... Show moreTrip date: October 2024

- Rachel· October 12th, 2023My husband and I decided to stop in Munich for Oktoberfest before traveling elsewhere in Europe for a couple weeks. I'm so glad we booked Thirsty Swagman to help us out with this! This is truly the only way to do Oktoberfest if you are a first timer like we were. We had so much fun at the reserved tables they had for us, and made many friends within the group. The hotel was also perfect, and they have the most incredible included breakfast. If we go to Oktoberfest again, we will definitely book it through Thirsty Swagman!Show moreThirsty Swagman commented on this reviewRachel you are awesome, thank you so much for this epic feedback! - Tarn· October 6th, 2023We just completed a two week trip through Europe with a group of four of us. Our second leg of the trip was using The Thirsty Swagman for a once in a lifetime experience at Octoberfest. Expectations were high going into this leg of the trip but Kenneth and his team exceeded this lofty bar in making everything as worry free and easy as possible. Everything was on time, well coordinated and the only thing we needed to worry about was showing up. We'd definitely use The Thirsty Swagman again and recommend that anyone else looking for a worry free Octoberfest experience do the same!Show moreThirsty Swagman commented on this reviewThank you Tarn! Asked on February 27th, 2025do we need to reserve seats in any of the tents we re staying at The Meriden Hotel maybe they might have special passes, or do i reserve seats with you to enjoy the fun
- Thirsty SwagmanOperator•Written February 2025
we can't arrange just beer tent reservations however since it's not legal to resell these. The only way you can legitimately get them is from the beer tents direct, you will need to contact each beer tent individually to do this. It will not be possible to get reservations for opening day, these are made available only to long-term existing customers (mostly Munich locals and German companies). Please do not buy these via any kind of "reseller", they will be a scam. I would recommend a company like Radius or Thirsty Historian, they offer day-tours that include reservations (however only day-time reservations and not opening weekend)

Asked on November 22nd, 2024Could they get a triple room at Le Meridien?
- Thirsty SwagmanOperator•Written November 2024
We can do triple-share rooming there, but the room is essentially a double-occupancy room with an extra bed added. The bed is slightly shorter than a standard bed - it's 2 meters but that includes the headboard so some people find them a bit small. If the extra person is very tall this might bother them. It hasn't been an issue 99% of the time but just for your info. Can you tell me also if you'd prefer a room with 3 separate beds or 1 king-size bed and the extra bed? I will need to check availability with the hotel if you want 3 separate beds.

Asked on September 9th, 2024Are airport transfers and city tours included in the 3 night tour price? Would like a 4 night price estimate with Le Meridian hotel.
- Thirsty SwagmanOperator•Written September 2024
We cannot arrange airport transfer for groups less than 20 people. For city tours we recommend local companies like Radius Tours or The Thirsty Historian. It is not something we do, we specialise in purely festival and pub tours.

Traveler•Written September 2024Are 4 and 5 star hotel tours available for 3 or 4 nights during Oktoberfest 2025 starting on Monday Sept 22 or Monday Sept 29?
- Thirsty SwagmanOperator•Written September 2024
5-star packages are booked out. We could do a mid-week package beginning Tuesday 30th Sept and add an extra night prior. We have an evening beer tent reservation on Thursday which is not customisable.

Traveler•Written September 2024Can you provide pricing for a mid-week package for 3 or 4 nights that begins on Tuesday 30th September, leaving on Friday 3rd Oct or Saturday 4th Oct staying in a 4 star or 5 star hotel?
- Thirsty SwagmanOperator•Written September 2024
Extra nights are 595 EURO per room at the 4-star hotel and 695 EURO per room at our 5-star hotel. Rates are per person based on double-occupancy. Single-occupancy rooms available depending on availability.

Asked on October 7th, 2022I was looking at Oktoberfest for 2023, spent 1 rainy day in the Hoffbrau house tent this year thinking of opening to midweek. we were booked at the Sofitel across from the Meridian for 4 nights this year. Can your La Merridian package be extended to include opening weekend? And what tents would we receive tickets for, my wife prefers to drink wine but had a good time this year
- Thirsty SwagmanOperator•Written October 2022
Thanks for your enquiry about our Oktoberfest packages, we will actually be offering an option at the Le Meridien. The tents at this stage will be Marstall on the Sunday night (they have wine, champagne etc) and Hofbrauhaus on the Monday evening (they also have a wine, I think it's a white wine).

Traveler•Written October 2022I am interested in staying a few extra nights we would like to stay from the 15th of September until the 20th or 21st. not sure if additional tents can be added? Yes Hofbrauhaus Had wine one option we were there this year. We were looking to sample a bit more of the tents like the Oxen tent as well supposed to have a great Roast beef dinner.
- Thirsty SwagmanOperator•Written October 2022
We can add the extra nights, at the Le Meriden it's 555 EURO per room per night incl. breakfast for both. We aren't able to book at the Sofitel since we do not have a group booking there.
- Thirsty SwagmanOperator•Written October 2022
We can't arrange extra tent reservations, these are made for our entire groups. Reservations can only be made for entire tables, and days like opening Saturday are not possible to get. I wouldn't recommend going to the festival grounds on opening Saturday, it's just far too crowded - people line up at 5am just to have a chance of getting in. On the Tuesday you will easily be able to get into any tent and find a seat without a reservation if you get there by around 4pm or so.

Asked on March 21st, 2022Is there a shuttle from airport to the hotel? Is there a breakfast at the hotel?
- Thirsty SwagmanOperator•Written March 2022
Airport transfer is not included. It's cheaper to get a taxi (approx 50 EURO) or train, which runs direct every 15 minutes and costs less than 15 EURO for 2 people. All our packages include full breakfast every day.
