Paying extras for alot of the optionals, I personally felt some were badly planned/ organised and way out of pocket. Quite a few of them were much cheaper to book and pay on getyourguide, whilst still appreciating the organisation and timing for booking with the tour. 1 hour in Positano was not worth the amount of money we paid. 1 hour in Sorrento as well. We were told we weren't allowed to catch the bus and do our own thing for some of the optionals, yet when we chose not to do an optional, such as pompei, we had to still be on the bus and wait around a small market for 3 hours. We were encouraged to take the walking tour of Rome, not being told that we would already be there and had the option to stay. So instead of heading back to the hotel for 3 hours like the rest, we stayed in Rome and adventured ourselves, and ended up paying for the walking tour, which of most we'd already seen ourselves. We were misguided to believe we had to take the tour to get into the city. Otherwise would have to find our own transportation. Other than that, for the price of what it was, it was great hotels and great places to see. I loved the fact the tour was all ages. It would have been great to maybe do a game or something on the bus to get everyone to know eachother and open up a little earlier. Other people agreed by the end when we all eventually mingled and became friends! I think being told we were a "tough crowd" numerous times by our guide, didn't really allow us to be our fun selves. It kind of set the precedent. Raymond was a great your guide overall, but sometimes when asking a question his reaction would make me feel uneasy to ask any more. A little defensive and sarcastic. Was unsure of whether it was his way of trying to break the ice or not but if it didn't work the first few times he should try a different approach lol. Got a little defensive when asking questions about the prices of the optionals as well. The fact the bus would give us a coffee break, and broke up the hours was great, and absolutely so was Michelli the bus driver. What an awesome driver 👏🏼 the hotels were all great 👍🏼 only 1 night I would say it would have been great to have dinner included as we didn't arrive to our hotel until dinner time then we had to go and find our own. This was in Nice, France. We don't have a time frame of when a trip will become definite however operations usually make a decision to withdraw a departure approximately 8-10 weeks prior to departure, sometime earlier if the departure is not looking hopeful.

All accommodation on this trip offers private ensuites and bedding in a share triple is generally 2 x twin (single) beds plus a fold-out or rollaway bed although on occasion there may be rooms with three separate beds.

The European Cavalcade actually commences in Amsterdam and the first night of the trip stays at the Ibis Schiphol Airport. Pre-trip accommodation is available at the Ibis at $232.00 per room for one night. Complimentary arrival transfers are available on the first day of this trip or in conjunction with pre accommodation booked through Costsaver. The transfer is operated by the ibis Schiphol Amsterdam Airport Hotel's Shuttle Bus service, with transfers hourly between 05:00 and 01:00. It is essential to allow at least one day in London after this trip as we do not recommend booking flights to depart on the last day of the trip.

You can arrive on the day the tour starts or if you wish to arrive early that is also possible. We do offer insurance. We highly recommend obtaining comprehensive travel insurance, ensuring you won't need to worry about emergencies that can happen anytime, anywhere, before or during your travels.
