- Day 1
Cape Town to Cedarberg
You'll leave Cape Town with a final view of Table Mountain across Table Bay. After stopping at a traditional Padstal farm stall to pick up homemade treats, the route heads to the Cedarberg region where you'll learn about Rooibos tea production and local hospitality. By evening you'll settle into camp and have dinner while meeting your fellow travelers.

Cedarberg to Orange River
The journey travels north through Namaqualand's desert landscapes with a supply stop in Springbok. You'll reach camp on the Orange River banks for the night. If you're traveling between July and September, keep an eye out for the region's famous wildflowers that blanket the area during spring.

Orange River to Keetmanshoop
There's an optional canoe trip on the Orange River available in the morning if you're interested. After lunch, you'll head inland to Fish River Canyon for a gentle walk along the rim. Later, the drive continues west to Keetmanshoop where you'll spend the night.

Keetmanshoop to Namib Desert
The morning focuses on exploring Quiver Tree Forest and The Giants Playground with their massive dolerite boulder formations. Then comes a long drive deeper into the Namib Desert along dusty roads through farmlands. By evening you'll settle at camp right at the edge of the dune fields.

Namib-Naukluft National Park
You'll rise early for the drive to Namib-Naukluft National Park, arriving just after sunrise. The day includes climbing famous Dune 45 to watch the desert colors shift and change. After a hearty breakfast, a 4x4 transfer takes you to Sossusvlei to explore the pans on foot. You'll visit Sesriem Canyon before settling down under the desert stars for the night.

Sesriem to Swakopmund
A local desert expert leads an enlightening desert excursion, which may happen in the afternoon of the previous day. There's a stop to mark crossing the Tropic of Capricorn. From there the route heads west into the sunset toward Swakopmund, a coastal town where you'll find both adventure and civilization. Dinner is at a local restaurant.

You'll have the day to explore Swakopmund at your own pace. The town offers German-inspired coffee shops and bakeries, craft markets to browse, and various amenities. It's a good base to prepare for the journey through northern Namibia ahead.

Landmarks/POIs Swakopmund - Day 9
Swakopmund to Brandberg
The route travels north where desert sands meet the Atlantic Ocean. You'll stop at seaside Wolwekrans for photos, then visit the Lichen Fields for a guided viewing. At The Brandberg (Burning Mountains), Namibia's highest peaks, you'll hike about 2 hours round trip to see the White Lady rock painting. This ancient artwork is one of over 45,000 in the area and is estimated to be around 2,000 years old. The hike crosses rough terrain along the Tsisab River gorge.

Etosha to Divundu
You'll leave the white sands of Etosha behind and venture toward the Kavango River. The overnight stop is in Divundu.

Divundu to Maun
A leisurely boat cruise takes you along the beautiful Kavango River. Later you'll cross the border into Botswana and head toward Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta. You'll spend the night in Maun before continuing to your next adventure.

Maun to Okavango Delta
For the next 2 nights you'll be separated from your Nomad truck, so pack lightly with just essentials. Early risers can take an optional scenic flight over the Delta (weather permitting). Smaller safari vehicles collect you from Maun and transfer you to Khwai Conservation Area. Your guide will brief you on the afternoon mokoro excursion into the Okavango Delta. You'll stay in rustic meru-style tents with en-suite bucket showers and chemical toilets.

Expect bumpy roads while exploring this wilderness area. By evening you'll return to Khwai to share sightings with other travelers.

You'll pack up camp and depart at first light in open 4x4 safari vehicles, passing the Botswanan salt pans. Your Nomad truck meets you in Maun before the scenic drive to Nata. Watch for wildlife encounters along the way to your overnight destination.

Kasane to Victoria Falls
You'll cross the border into Zimbabwe this morning and travel to Victoria Falls. The day focuses on visiting the spectacular Victoria Falls at your leisure (known locally as Mosi-oa Tunya, 'the smoke that thunders'). Much of the time is spent viewing the mighty Zambezi River as it drops into the Batoka Gorge. The bustling adventure town also has optional adrenaline activities or more relaxed options like craft markets and coffee shops.
