Amsterdam
You'll have the day to yourself in Amsterdam, free to wander the streets and neighborhoods at your own pace. This evening, your Travel Director has arranged a dinner cruise along the canals, and you'll head out with your group to see the Old City from the water before stopping at a local restaurant for dinner and wine.

Amsterdam to Würzburg
Travel moves through the Rhine Valley into Germany and Würzburg. Once there, you'll walk through the Old Town and come across the 16th-century Alte Mainbrücke, a bridge lined with sandstone statues overlooking the River Main. A Local Expert joins you for a guided tour of the Würzburg Residenz, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with lavish rooms showing French, Austrian, and Venetian design influences.

Würzburg to Prague
The route takes you to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, one of the best-preserved medieval towns on the Romantic Road. After that, you'll head east toward the Czech border, passing through Pilsen, famous for beer production. Later in the day you arrive in Prague, and if you're interested, there's an optional river cruise through the city available this evening.

- Day 4
Prague
Prague offers you two options to choose from. One path takes you to Prague Castle courtyards and St. Vitus Cathedral. The other option has a Local Expert leading a walk through the Jewish Quarter, covering the city's Jewish history and including a chance to try Trdelník, the local chimney cakes. The rest of your day is free, so you can browse antique shops or look for Bohemian crystal. That evening, there's an optional countryside experience available.

Prague to Salzburg
Travel south through the Czech Republic and into Austria to reach Salzburg, Mozart's hometown. A Local Expert will take you through the formal gardens of Mirabell Palace, the location of the 'Do, Re, Mi' scene from The Sound of Music. You'll also visit Residence Square with its fountain from 'I Have Confidence,' see the fortress and cathedral, and check out Mozart's birthplace on Getreidegasse. Dinner tonight is a farm-to-table meal.

If you want something more active, Kehlsteinhaus (the Eagle's Nest) is optional, offering impressive alpine views. Later you'll travel through the Tauern Mountains into Italy and arrive in Venice. Your hotel sits in a quiet, authentic Venetian neighborhood.

Venice
This morning embraces Venice at its most romantic. You'll see the Campanile and Doge's Palace on St. Mark's Square, connected to old prisons by the Bridge of Sighs. Some people shop in small arcades, while others take a lagoon cruise to the island of Burano for local food and wine.

Venice to Rome
2025 is a Jubilee Year for the Catholic church, celebrated every 25 years, and Rome is the center of it, so your itinerary may shift to take advantage of this. You'll travel through the Apennine Mountains and past the peaceful countryside of Tuscany and Umbria, following the Tiber River to Rome. Dinner at a local restaurant happens this evening.

Your morning starts with a walking tour led by a Local Expert, exploring Rome's art, history, piazzas, and palaces. Tonight, you get exclusive after-hours access to the Basilica of Saint Praxedes to see 9th-century Byzantine mosaics lit up specially, plus Bernini's first sculpture and a legendary well.

Rome to Florence
Start at Vatican State, where a Local Expert introduces you to the Vatican Museums and its papal treasures. Fast-track entry means you skip the crowds to see the Papal art collection and Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling. From there, you travel through Umbria and Tuscany to Florence. You'll head to the Italian Riviera and Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for beautiful coastal landscapes. Later you continue to your resort on the Riviera, and dinner features authentic Italian cooking.

Italian Riviera to Lake Lucerne
Starting north from Milan, the route goes toward the Italian Lake District by way of Lake Lugano. From there you head into the Swiss Alps, traveling through the Saint Gotthard Tunnel, one of the world's longest road tunnels. You'll pass towering mountains and rushing water before descending to scenic Lake Lucerne, where you have free time for the rest of the afternoon.

Lucerne
This morning features a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER Experience on Mount Stanserhorn, riding a solar-powered open-roof cable car to the summit. Scenic walks let you spot marmots and other local wildlife while learning about the area's flora. After descending, you return to Lucerne to see the Lion Monument carved into limestone, honoring Swiss Guards from the French Revolution. You'll walk across the covered Chapel Bridge and visit the Baroque Jesuit Church. The afternoon is free for shopping (fine watches and Swiss chocolates are popular) or exploring.
