What people love about touring South Italy solo
- Southern Italy
My husband and I spent an amazing ten days in Italy thanks to Alex from Eskapas. Also our guide Adrian was fun, extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his subject. I would absolutely recommend your tour company again and I have already. Thank you again! We loved every minute of it!

The tour guide, Placido, was excellent as well as the bus driver. They had good rapport with the group. We saw amazing sights, the accommodations were good, especially in Agrigento, and the commentary was good. Some things to improve: it should be highlighted that this is a WALKING tour and requires some mobility. We had three people who were challenged daily and the group was significantly slowed down as a result; also, there should be better communication between the tour company and cities and provinces about local events which might hinder the passage of the tour bus. (In our case it was a cycling race, which made it impossible to cross the road to our destination of Marsala and a wine tasting.) ; and finally, each day there were additional costs to get into sights. Each day it should be mentioned which places are optional and at what cost. We have already mentioned the tour to people we have met with good reviews but the above improvements would make it even better.

The tour was very well organized and we couldn’t have had a better tour leader. Angelo was always very kind and patient and went above and beyond to be helpful. We saw quite a bit of Sicily in just one week. Hotels were ok, 4 star by Sicilian standards I guess. Included lunches were good for the most part. The included dinners were substandard. We had a great group which added to the enjoyment of the tour. It would be helpful to know hotels we are staying in more than 5 days before tour starts so we can book our own airport transfers which would have been less expensive. Also more attention needs to be paid to the small details. Didn’t affect me much since I am on top of everything but still had to deal with and correct the minor mistakes in my booking. All in all a good trip!
