What people love about Valley Of The Kings Tours
- Nile Jewel - 5* Cruise
What an amazing experience ... I wish I could go back. From the moment we landed we were greeted by wonderful, friendly staff. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were looked after. Ramy even organised a surprise birthday cake for me. The tour guides were fantastic, very passionate about what they do, Ramez was amazing and made sure we had the best experience possible!! I would most certainly recommend them to anyone wanting to visit Egypt.
- 10 Day Egypt Experience (Grand Egyptian Museum Special)
The first leg of the tour, through mainland Egypt, was perfectly organised - from the minute we stepped off the aircraft and were met by the company director before passport control to our last bus ride leaving Cairo. The itinerary was well planned and closely followed. We were met by different representatives in every city (Cairo, Aswan & Luxor) who helped us with accommodation/transport/tours/etc., and we also had separate guides at all the historic sites, who were very knowledgable and helpful. A special shout out goes to Aswan/Luxor guide Ibrahim and to Cairo representative Michael (nicest guy in Egypt!). Company director Magdy was also very helpful and always answered to our queries immediately via Whatsapp. Hotels were very good quality and in good locations, away from the hustle and bustle of the city but close enough to reach on foot. Transport was also comfortable and air-conditioned. Felucca trip was very relaxing and fun; facilities were basic as forewarned, but food plentiful & tasty and both crew members were very nice and spoke relatively good English. Second leg of the tour, mainly in Dahab, wasn’t as well organised. VTGT works through a sub-agency in Dahab, King Safari Dahab. We were meant to be met in Dahab by representative Bob, presumably the owner of King Safari. However, after spending three and a half days in Dahab, we never even saw Bob! We were picked up late after arriving in Dahab and were driven to the wrong hotel on the exact opposite side of town. We stupidly and unknowingly booked our optional activities through King Safari. Next morning we were picked up 1.5 hours late to go to our first optional activity (Blue Hole snorkelling and trip to Ras Abu Gallum & Blue Lagoon). Snorkelling gear provided was old & mediocre and no one spoke English, so we were very lost the entire day, only helped by a friendly Egyptian tourist who spoke very good English. In the evening we tried to complain at King Safari booking office, only to be ridiculed and laughed at by the booking agent. To add insult to injury, we found out from the Egyptian tourist that we were charged more than double the rate he paid! Two days later we were dropped off in Nuweibaa to catch the ferry to Aqaba by a taxi organised by King Safari. Needless to say the driver didn’t speak much English, and did not even know that we were to be dropped off at the seaport. Eventually we were dropped of a few metres outside of the seaport, at a loss of where we should head catch the ferry. Thankfully the third leg of the tour, through Jordan, was also perfectly organised. We were first helped though customs and then met our driver and guide for the next five days. Moustafa was a great driver & guide and above all a fantastic guy. He was very knowledgable, kept us entertained throughout the trip and did his utmost to suit our requests for restaurants/shops/etc. Camping in Wadi Rum was a very good experience, with very nice ensuite tents and delicious food served. The two other hotels in Jordan were also of high quality. Guides provided in Petra and Jerash were also very knowledgable, and Moustafa personally walked us around Amman. Overall we could not fault Vacations to go travel, but perhaps VTGT should rethink their sub-agency in Dahab. Word of advice to fellow travellers: book your tour with VTGT but book your activities in Dahab through another tour operator!
- Holiday In Egypt 4 Days – 3 Nights 5* Nile Cruise From Cairo by Flight
We bought the cruise tickets, months before the actual date, during those months Mohamed answered all our questions and was very nice. Near the cruise date, he sent us the internal flights tickets, and I was very surprised that the flight from Luxor to Cairo was planned to midnight, when the tour would end at noon. I sent him a message right away, asking to change the flights since that time would not work for us. I followed up in that request, and the answer was always the same, I will see if it's possible. The trip date arrived and we started our cruise. We had an amazing guide (not sure how to spell his name but is something like Ahmur), our trip in Egypt lasted 1 week, 3 days besides the cruise, and he was the best person we met during the whole experience. He was the one person that did not asked us for money for every single thing that he did for us. He was funny, nice and so helpful. Our trip was good thanks to him. We spend 4 days with him and he took us to all the amazing places, as if was not enough to be there, he scheduled some of the tours earlier so we could arrive in the place before all the other tourists, more than once we had temples just for us, the pictures are amazing. Regarding that Luxor plan ticket that I talked about, once we were in Egypt we bought a chip with an egyptian phone number and then we started communicating regularly with Mohamed, on the 2nd day of the tour my husband asked him if he had changed the tickets, and he didn't. In the end we need to pay almost a new ticket to be able to change the time of the flight. I am sure if the change was made when I asked (weeks before) it would be much less expensive. Another issue we had, was about the 4th day of the tour, in the description on the website, there was an '(optional)' before the paragraph that describe the hot air balloon tour, and then the tour for Karnak and Luxor temple is described in a different paragraph, giving the impression that is included. But it's not, so, in fact you buy a 4 days tours experience, and if you don't pay extra you will actually have just 3 days. As we did not want to spend the day 'doing nothing' the whole day, we decided to pay for this 'optional' tour, after we clarified the confusion. We would still recommend the service, due to our amazing guide and to the close support we had from Mohamed during the trip. But as a warning, go prepared to spent more money than planned. And as a suggestion for Real Life Egypt: - When a customer request a change on a plan ticket, try and see that in advance as we all know, ticket plans tend to get more expensive near the trip date. - Improve the description of the tour, adding 'Optional' in every paragraph that describe the tours, just to avoid any confusion and breaking expectations.
