George· January 12th, 2025The tour was well chosen and professionally staffed in terms of guides and their encyclopedic knowledge of the eons of Egyptian social history. Overall a solid "value for money" experience; this was my 2nd very similar tour of Egypt and the one 3 years ago was with Gate 1. My only major criticism was with the staff of the cruise ship and their overall competence. First the "reception staff" (Mathew and Timothy(?)) simply did not have anywhere enough ENGLISH SPEAKING SKILLS to understand simply questions about details of the ship and about services that were supposed to be available e.g. internet paid connection! The ship was either new or very recently refurbished and should have been an exceptional experience, but between the incompetence of the reception staff and the further very repetitious nature of the food buffets the "on ship" experience was a solid C- and much less satisfactory than the 4 days 3 years ago on the Gate 1 included cruise time. The quality of every version of "beef" available was poor and actually very hard to identify as beef. Our meals in economy class Lufthansa flights returning to California were more tasty, and even better presented!!!!! THAT is simply inexcusable. YOUR staff were excellent in the main office in responding to our "special needs" for the return connections and the airport pickup and drop-off service you provided was A+. The "tour" fulfilled ALL my exceptions and was done with GREAT staff. Finally making this Bucket List trip has exceeded my expectations! Egypt has so much more to offer than the Great Pyramids. I did the Nile Adventure Odyssey with the 7 day cruise and was overjoyed at my experience! Beyond the Nile Tours/Noorbelle Tours gave me an unforgettable experience. The tour company management and guides are exceptional. Ahmed (the Manager), Abdul (my Cairo tour guide and archaeologist) and “King Ahmed I” (my Luxor tour guide and Egyptologist) took excellent care of me while on tour. Any question or request I had was quickly answered and I was provided excellent ideas on where to shop, eat and soak up the culture. All the local craftsmen, artisans, restaurants and vendors all gave me an amazing look at the Egyptian culture. I took advantage of as many excursions as possible and was asking for more. I particularly loved the tranquility of Saqqara and the awe-inspiring Abu Simbel. The views are breathtaking and I feel like every picture is a masterpiece! Any history buff, world traveler or nomad can find something wonderful about Egypt but I highly recommend The Nile Adventure Odyssey and Beyond the Nile Tours. You won’t regret it! Aside from the expected tourist stops, the cruise on the Nile was transformative. Sailing up and down the Nile while seeing Egypt at daybreak, dusk or night was incredible. The colors, sounds, flavors all added to one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. I had the benefit of a private, semi-private and full tour, so I can attest that the company will work with you to accommodate your requests. There no proper time schedule (a crewdly and not accurate summary is all you get from "Harry" the tour guide and it doesn't match with the description from Tour Radar so you constantly have to be alert to what the helll is going on at the edge of the seat. Communication between between Tour leader to his guides and to the travellers were soo poorly delivered everyone kept asking each other, what is happening next, where do we meet, what time to get up, time to pack, it was mentally and physically exhausting having to second guess what is happening all the time so you have to be prepared instead of relax and enjoy the trip. From the tour leader to the guides and all staff involved in service, all they were interested in was being tip even though their performance doesn't deserve it. But even worse are the locals Egyptian targeting tourists for money and hassling us for tip with countless sob stories of family needing money, daughter getting marry, wife is sick, one even claim he was out boat baker and needed money to buy spices! They were rude, relentless in trying extort money from us tourist. It was emotionally draining trying to fend of the locals even though we couldnt avoid the hospitality staff who were just as hungry for tip. The USD 60 tip kitty we were required to paid meant nothing as drivers and anyone else servicing us kept wanting more. The poor communication and organisation throughout the trip kept everyone alert and the relentless tipping pressure made this one of worse tour and expensive tour I have been on. And the tour company wants US cash to cover all entrance fees, $150 upfront. So over $300, per person, in US cash, upfront, day 1.The company then asks for another gratuity at the end of the tour. It is a huge red flag this is emailed to the customer after the trip is booked and paid and so much cash is asked for upfront. I did not feel safe. I’ve travelled with tour radar in the past. One of our party gets very water sick so we don't want a Nile cruise, although we do want to see all the sights! We were trying to work out how to include Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, St Catherine's and one or two days on the Red Sea (Hurghada or Sharm for example).
