About Overland Ireland - Small Group Tours

The Wild Atlantic Way
Travelling from Dublin, you will leave the crowds and noise behind and begin your journey along the Wild Atlantic Way. Your journey will cover 1,100 km of rugged Irish coastline from Westport to Dingle. You will take part in as many adventures and see all the iconic sights we can squeeze in along the way.
Meet The Locals
To experience the real Ireland and have lasting memories you must meet the Irish people. During your trip we want to introduce you to our friends from Mayo to Kerry and all the hotspots in between. They will make sure you have a magical experience.

Small Groups
We can take you to all the nooks and crannys of the Emerald Isle because of the small numbers. You will get to know your fellow passengers and get to ask your guide as many questions you like from the comfort of your seat. If you spot a photo op along the way just holler and we will stop for you :)

Questions & Answers

  • Will there be other solo travellers on this tour?

On the tour, you will meet a wide variety of travellers including plenty of solo travellers, friends travelling together, couples and siblings. Don't worry by the end of the first day everyone will know each other so you will no longer feel like strangers but more like great like-minded friends!
  • Are there luggage restrictions on this tour?

Packing for a trip is never easy and we fully understand that you want to bring as much as possible on your tour of Ireland. For the tour bus, we would ask you to try to pack as lightly and mindfully as possible. The max dimensions we would suggest would be 76cm/48 cm OR 30 inches/19 inches (70L backpack) - this size suitcase would be considered a large size universally. We just want to ensure all guests can fit their luggage in the bus comfortably! We also suggest packing a backpack for necessities.
  • How big is the tour group?

The group sizes can vary however there will only ever be a maximum of 16 travellers on every tour.
  • Is there a hotel list available?

The accommodations we partner with are a mixture of traditional Irish guesthouses and boutique hotels. The properties we stay with vary, depending on availability. You can rest assured knowing we have personally vetted each property (we’ve even jumped on the beds ourselves). Some examples are Dingle Marina Lodge to The Harbour Hotel in Galway.
  • When and where does the tour end?

The tour ends at approximately 5pm depending on traffic, with a dropoff outsideHeuston station. Please note this is subject to each tour.
  • Can you assist with booking additional accommodation?

Unfortunately, we do not provide pre or post tour accommodation. However, we can send you through some recommendations
  • Do I need a visa?

Some countries require a VISA to enter Ireland. The list of countries whose citizens do not require a VISA to enter Ireland is defined in the Immigration Act 2004 (Visas) Order 2011 (SI 146 of 2011)
  • What is the age range?

The minimum age for small group tours is 12 years old.
  • Do you arrange airport transfers?

Airport transfers are not included in the price however, there are taxis readily available from the moment you step outside the airport (cost about €25-€35), or passengers can get a bus service that runs from the airport to different locations throughout the city (cost about €6-€8). Arranging your airport pick up and drop off is always better arranged in advance as ad-hoc prices could be higher.
  • I have a special dietary request, can this be accommodated for?

When booking your tour with us, please don't forget to inform our team of travel experts about any dietary requirements you may have, such as gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, or any other specific needs. We want to ensure your experience during the tour is enjoyable and accommodating. Once you embark on your journey with Overland Ireland, our dedicated team will go above and beyond to make sure that all the included meals align with your dietary preferences and requirements
  • Do you have a packing list of what to bring on the tour?

Overland Ireland advises people to travel light but a few essentials are needed.
    • Walking or hiking boots/shoes
    • Waterproof jacket and a few sweaters
    • Beach towel
    • Music
    • Camera
    • Great sense of humour
    • Believe it or not: Sunscreen!
In Ireland, we are known to experience all 4 seasons in one day. The best way to dress here is to bring plenty of light layers.
  • When and where does the tour start?

    The Ashling Hotel Dublin,10 - 13 Parkgate St, Stoneybatter, Dublin 8, D08 P38N Time: 08:00.
The Wild West and north is our only tour that starts at 12:00 pm from Harbour Hotel in Galway
  • I'm a solo traveller, is there a single supplement?

Prices are based on guests sharing. If you are travelling solo, there is an additional charge. This is to insure a private room throughout your trip. The amount will depend on the duration of the tour you book. We keep the single supplement as low as possible, but we do have to charge it because single occupancy rooms are more expensive per person.
  • Are the flights included?

Flights before and after the tour are not included in the tour price and you need to arrange these separately by yourself once your tour is guaranteed.
  • Are meals included?

You will get to enjoy breakfast every day as it is included in the tour cost. All other meals are at your own expense, however, your tour guide will give some fantastic recommendations on places where you can eat a delicious lunch and dinner.
