- DGDoug· September 3rd, 2025Definitely the trip of a lifetime! Our guide, Cathal, made it a wonderful experience! We had great accommodations, saw ALL the sites we wanted to see, and were given great restaurant recommendations each evening. Cathal helped with our luggage each day and made sure our rooms were ready each afternoon when we arrived at a new destination. He is extremely knowledgeable and we highly recommend Overland Ireland and Cathal!Show moreOverland Ireland - Small Group Tours commented on this reviewThanks a million Doug for your wonderful feedback and we are delighted that you enjoyed your trip. - MMMegan· June 27th, 2025Fantastic tour, definitely recommend!! Our guide Pat O'Meara was knowledgeable, approachable, well prepared, informative about each day's plans & activities, as well as options and alternatives where applicable. Great accommodation, better than expected. Included breakfasts were excellent variety. Meal options recommended by Pat were appreciated and a wide range to suit all. Appreciated his making dinner reservations, always nice to have a recommended place at the end of the day to enjoy. Loved the history notes provided by Pat as we toured, attention to detail & craic storytelling. Also really enjoyed all of the activities, such as tastes of Galway tour, Ardara distillery, biking, hiking, hiking, hiking, kayaking, and even saw a puffin! The scenery was beyond beautiful, everywhere we went, and especially County Clare, a crowd favourite with our bus.Show moreTrip date: June 2025
- Sue· June 9th, 2025We had an amazing tour with overland tours. It was of course, due to the locations picked, the hotels picked, the attractions, etc. However, the most outstanding and impressive single piece of the puzzle that made our tour so fantastic was our tour guide, Pat O'Mara. He was spectacular. He was informative, resourceful, intuitive, spontaneous, flexible, and ENTERTAINING! His knowledge of the history of each location as well as tidbits about everything we passed on the route in the bus was mind blowing. Pat MADE the tour TWICE as good as it would have been without him! We LOVED IT!Show moreOverland Ireland - Small Group Tours commented on this reviewDear Sue, Many thanks for your wonderful review and we are delighted you had such an awesome trip with Overland Ireland. - Patricia Ann· May 27th, 2025Overland Irelands 10 day small group tour exceeded my expectations! I was impressed with the variety & quality of the accommodations. Our itinerary was varied & we had new adventures every day! We kayaked in Dingle, had a walking food tour of Galway ( delicious), and walked a rope bridge at the Giants Causeway! Our guide Jack was one of a kind! Jack entertained us with tales of Irish history. He made sure we saw stunning vistas that were not on the itinerary. Jack also made recommendations & reservations for unique & delicious meals most nights. He also recommended pubs, and would occasionally make stops during the day for those of us who needed a Guinness! He even coordinated an afternoon pub visit to watch a hurling match while eating homemade apple pie & drinking an Irish coffee. I couldn’t have asked for a better ambassador for Ireland! I highly recommend this tour!Show moreTrip date: May 2025
- Courtney· May 27th, 2025Our tour guide, Hugh was exceptional! So full of knowledge, humor, and engaging stories. He truly made the tour worth taking again! The administrative side of the house did leave a little to be desired. They were definitely sure to keep in contact when they were withdrawing the money from my account, but we didn't receive any further communications regarding our trip, unless I initiated it. When we arrived to our meeting point, we were asked who our assigned tour guide was, and we had no clue. We were told we should have received an email about it, and none of us in either tour had received the email. Also, I ended up being put on the reverse ultimate tour, and received no communications about that either. I absolutely didn't mind doing the reverse tour, because we still saw everything; however, it would have been nice to have known that for our arrival. There also seemed to be a few hiccups regarding tours and/or adventures we were scheduled on, that had to be 'fixed' because they were booked for the wrong time or not booked at all. Hugh, the wonder guide, communicated with the admin staff and had the issues fixed quickly, so they didn't impact our tour, but I feel these kind of details should surely be hammered out well before the tour gets started..not on an as needed basis. All that being said, I would still do the tour again.Show moreOverland Ireland - Small Group Tours commented on this reviewHello Tatum, We are delighted that you had a great tour and enjoyed your guide. Asked on July 8th, 2025Is it USD quoted in? Good rates for Canadians? I'm wondering what the mornings look like. What time are we getting up and supposed to to be on the bus? What time do we have to leave our luggage out in the mornings? What are the accommodations like?
- Overland Ireland - Small Group ToursOperator•Written July 2025
The amount is in USD. Breakfast on each day is from 8, and most days you would be either getting on the road, or at a activity for 9am/9.30. All of our accommodation providers are 4 star, and we regularly check for feedback on them to maintain a high standard.

Asked on June 18th, 2025Would like more information about the accommodation used on the tour. Are they 3-4 star? Is the tour involving a lot of walking or hiking?
- Overland Ireland - Small Group ToursOperator•Written June 2025
These are the hotels: Derry: Shipsquay Hotel, Belfast: 10 Square Hotel, Lough Eske Castle: 5* hotel, Westport: The Wyatt Hotel, Galway: Galmont or Hyde Hotel, Doolin: Doolin Inn, Dingle: Emlagh House or Dingle Marina, Kindsale: Actons Hotel. Most are 3-4 stars, with one 5-star hotel. People are really happy with the accommodations and we have upgraded these over the years with great feedback.

Asked on March 30th, 2025What the level of activity at this tour
- Overland Ireland - Small Group ToursOperator•Written March 2025
We offer two small group tour styles: Relaxed and Active. Our Relaxed tours provide a laid-back experience with ample time to enjoy Ireland's scenery and culture at an easy pace. The Active tours are designed for adventure seekers, with options for hiking, kayaking, and other outdoor activities. Both styles offer a unique, immersive journey through Ireland—just tailored to your pace! Our Ultimate tour is part of our relaxed type of tours so has nice walks and you can go cycling if you want on the Arran Islands but its not necessary as there are other options as well, similar to kayaking in Dingle which some guests do while others dont. So it has a nice mixture but if you dont want to it's an easy going tour with lots to see and experience. We have also a more active tour which is our 11 day Full Irish, which follows a similar route but is more geared towards hiking and biking.

Asked on January 23rd, 2025Do we need a visa to enter? My understanding is we do not need one for Ireland, but I'm unsure of Northern Ireland.
- Overland Ireland - Small Group ToursOperator•Written January 2025
You're correct that you do not need a visa for the Republic of Ireland. However, since your tour includes Belfast, which is in Northern Ireland (part of the UK), you will need to complete an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before visiting the UK.

Linda
Traveler•Written May 2025Can you advise if there are any size restrictions for luggage and number of pieces allowed.
- Overland Ireland - Small Group ToursOperator•Written May 2025
The max dimensions we would suggest would be 76cm/48 cm OR 30 inches/19 inches (70L backpack) – this size suitcase would be considered a large size universally. We just want to ensure all guests can fit their luggage on the bus comfortably! We also suggest packing a rucksack/backpack for day-to-day necessities while on tour.
