What people love about Turkey Tours in September
- Turkey in Depth
Really great tour. Oz our tour guide was knowledgeable, responsive and caring. He was lots of fun and the trip went extremely well. Hotels were generally ok, not great but still all right. The was a tip kitty of 700 TL at start which I didn't know about ( for hotels etc) so had to get some TL to pay
- Flying Carpet Tour
Couldn’t ask for a better tour
- Fire of Anatolia Tour
Very well organized tour. I was lucky to be in a very small group (3 persons); it was almost a private tour. They honored all what they advertised; we visited all the sites mentioned in their brochure. Hotels were very good to excellent. Whenever we had any small problem the guide would intervene to solve it. I highly recommend this tour (in Turkey). I went to another tour with Fez in Greece and the Balkans, they deal with a local agency in Macedonia, it was much less well organized.
What our customers ask about Turkey Tours in September 2025
What is the weather like in Turkey during September?
Turkey enjoys moderate temperatures during September with daily averages between 15-25°C (59-77°F). The weather creates good conditions for exploring cities like Istanbul and visiting the rock formations in Cappadocia. The Mediterranean coast near Antalya and Kas stays warm enough for beach activities and swimming. The pleasant climate marks a clear shift from the intense summer heat making outdoor activities more comfortable.
What makes September an ideal time to visit Turkey's historical sites?
The mild September weather creates perfect conditions to explore Turkey's rich archaeological sites. Visitors can spend more time at places like Ephesus and Troy without dealing with summer heat or large crowds. The Ilayda Avantgarde Hotel in Kusadasi provides a convenient location for day trips to nearby ruins. Major attractions in Istanbul such as Topkapi Palace and Hagia Sophia become more accessible as tourist numbers decrease.
Are there any special festivals or events in Turkey during September?
The month brings several cultural celebrations across Turkey. The International Istanbul Biennial runs throughout September while the Grape Festival takes place in Cappadocia's Ürgüp region. Wine regions like Sirince village host local harvest celebrations. Visitors to Konya can experience the Mevlana Festival featuring traditional whirling dervish performances that showcase Turkey's Sufi heritage.
How crowded are tourist attractions in Turkey during September?
September represents shoulder season in Turkey with fewer visitors than peak summer months. Major attractions like Istanbul's Blue Mosque and Grand Bazaar see a noticeable decrease in crowds. Hotels such as the MD Barbaros in Canakkale report lower occupancy while maintaining their full range of services giving visitors more space to explore at their own pace.
What are the accommodation options like in Turkey during September?
September offers good value across Turkey's accommodation spectrum. Visitors can find rooms at boutique properties like the Ilayda Avantgarde Hotel in Kusadasi or distinctive cave hotels such as Gamirasu Hotel in Cappadocia. Many properties reduce their peak season rates while keeping service standards high allowing travelers to experience quality stays at better prices.
Are hot air balloon rides in Cappadocia better in September?
September presents optimal flying conditions for Cappadocia's famous hot air balloon experiences. The month typically brings clear morning skies and stable winds. Properties like MDC Cave Hotel help arrange early morning flights that provide views across the unique landscape. The comfortable temperatures and good visibility create reliable conditions for this popular activity.
