What people love about Nordic / Scandinavia Tours in December
- 8 Day Around Iceland Winter Minibus Tour
The itinerary for this tour is excellent. The tour takes in the major sites and is managed well by a variety of guides along the way. The accommodation is very good, always clean, warm and comfortable. Owing to very bad weather we had to change our schedule but this did not affect the quality of the tour. Dinner was always at the hotel and paid for as an individual extra. The days were not rushed and the small number of people per tour really made for an exciting, friendly and unique experience.
- Absolute North
My brother and I chose the Absolute North tour because our family heritage is Norwegian and we wanted to experience a Norwegian Christmas. Sadly, we were not able to visit Norway due to current COVID restrictions. So, four stars because we didn't actually go on the Absolute North tour. Europamundo allowed us to trade into the Berlin to Tallinn trip which hit all the highlights of our previous trip barring Norway. We had a good time and that was partially because we were a very small crew of 6 for a few days and then 3 for the final 4 days of the trip. We got some good time spent with our guide Juan Manuel and plenty of stories/photos to last us a lifetime. Overall, accommodations were great and the tour itself was full of interesting stops. Our only letdown was that a holiday meal wasn't planned for our trip over Christmas. Very few restaurants or stores were available in Berlin on Christmas Day, not even the hotel restaurant was open. It could have been a nice touch to offer a meal together for our last night in Berlin. I know a few in our small crew had to resort to McDs because a proper meal couldn't be acquired. We survived, but that was a needless stressor for the trip. Our favorite adventure was definitely the night ship from Stockholm to Helsinki - thank you for that experience! We didn't know what to expect from a night ship and it was definitely cruise level! We managed to get single beds for the majority of the trip except for a hotel change in Copenhagen that only had double beds. We want to go back and visit in the Summer to see more at night. Finland was a fun stop but the cold and approaching New Year's Eve meant that many places closed early. Thanks again to Juan Manuel for being such a kind and hospitable guide. There is a room waiting for you in Idaho, my friend!
