What people love about Athens to Istanbul Tours
- Best of Greece and Turkey with 3-day Cruise (Small Group)so the tour overall covered so much! it would be impossible to visti/do as much in each country without this tour. With that being said there are some warning I wish someone told me. Greece: the cruise was very nice, but it was a smaller boat, so you felt every single wave. If you are prone to sea sickness, I would not recommend Celestial Cruise lines. I've been on a larger ferry/ cruise ships before, and never felt so much rocking before. The islands were great, and it was a taste of everything. But if you do all the excursions, you have to pay more, and wake up at 6 am everyday. The cruise is not a beach vacation, be ready to walk uphill and learn a lot about Greece. Turkey: This trip was phenomenal, but the bus was a bit small and my husband and I sat separately to be more comfortable. Also, the drives are LONG. the longest drive was 10 hours long, and it felt like we did more driving than exploring. the hot air balloons was an amazing experience, but you have to wake up at 3 am, pickup 4am, and then you have a whole day of excursions with the rest of the group. Needless to say, by 4pm i was EXHAUSTED but we were not near done. When we reached some of the cities, there wasn't any time to do anything and you were exhausted from the drives. The cave hotel was a great experience, but it was HOT. there is no ac, and even though it was cold outside I was sweating and uncomfortable. Also, there was no time to shop until Istanbul. I was looking forward to go to Izmir and Istanbul for the leather/turkish rugs, but they just pushed one store of each on us, and then we could only get what we wanted from there, because there was no time to go anywhere else. Finally I loved that my last stop was in Istanbul because i was able to shop the way i wanted to. Overall, from a history perspective, this tour was amazing. But if you want a tour that's slower paced, and more relaxing, i would find another tour that's either longer, or has less things to do.
- Classical Greece and Turkey with 3-Day Cruise (Small Group)Me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our vacation trip to Greece and Turkey. The cruise for was delightful and convenient for us. Loved the entertainment on board the cruise ship. We also loved Istanbul and Cappadocia thanks to our guide Mustafa . The hot air balloon ride in Cappadocia was great fun. The hotels were first class except the one in Athens was small one but well located. The weather was very hot, the crowds were surprisingly low. We thought it was due to pandemic. Many friends and family members were concerned for our health & safety before we left. Their concern was completely unfounded. Travel tips : Upgrade your hotel in Cappadocia to a cave hotel. Book your balloon ride at least one month before. It was a memorable trip.
- Athens to Cappadocia thru Bucharest and Istanbul - 3 FLIGHTS INCLUDED - Small Group TourI had an amazing time on this well-organized tour through Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and Turkey. From the smooth airport transfers to the fascinating guided tours, everything was taken care of. My highlights were the Acropolis in Athens, the stunning Meteora monasteries, the historic Rila Monastery, and the enchanting streets of Istanbul. Cappadocia was a standout, with its unique cave hotels and breathtaking landscapes (the hot air balloon ride was a must!). The accommodations were comfortable, and the local guides were knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore these beautiful regions with ease and comfort!
