- EHErin· July 7th, 2024This was the perfect blend of independent and guided. We had the opportunity to do what we wanted the first couple days, then kick back and enjoy the ride the last two days. We arrived in the afternoon on Day 1 so had time to enjoy the hostel's rooftop pool before meeting our guide for a walking tour of Florence in the evening. The YellowSquare Hostel was fantastic - they offer so many activities and events that you could go there with no plans and find plenty to do. Our tour guide, Marie from Italy on a Budget tours, was fantastic. We were the only group scheduled for the walking tour, so we got a very personalized experience with lots of recommendations for places to eat and local knowledge, which we took advantage of during our free day in the city. The winetasting day was also fantastic and I enjoyed the variety of wines and scenery between both vineyards. Cinque Terre was absolutely beautiful. The only thing I would have changed would have been to spend more time in one of the towns instead of an hour or less in each. It's a long day of train travel. If we'd had more time in Manarola or Vernazza, I would have gone swimming or kayaking. I hope to go back to Florence some day and spend even more time there!Show more

They failed to respond to me after I sent in 5 requests . This alone is rude. Now they want to keep my deposit. - RCRachel· June 25th, 2022I recently did the Best of Tuscany tour with Italy on a Budget. I had a good time although there were a few parts that could be improved. The description of the trip suggests you would be with a group of people for the duration of the tour, however this tour is simply made up of day trips which appear to be almost completely filled by day trippers. Majority were also not solo travellers - I think it's important to note, as for me that was the draw of booking onto the tour. Value for money wise, I think it would have worked out cheaper to book the accommodation myself and then just do the day trips for pisa/cinque terre and vineyards. The vineyard tour was great, and very generous on the tastings. The pisa and cinque terre trip was an extremely long day 7am-8pm. We stopped at 3 towns but only had an hour in each, I think it would be more beneficial to only do 2 and have a bit longer in each for it to be more worthwhile and enjoyable.Show moreTrip date: June 2022

If you are late a minute at any stop, they don't wait or call you, they just leave you wherever you are, even in the middle of random wineyard (as it states in their description). We are not strict with the age limit and people older than 45 are always welcome as long as they are young in heart and have no walking disabilities, and are happy to be with younger people!
