- Andrew· May 28th, 2025What a phenomenal experience… the land is breathtaking, the people are friendly (and hilarious), the food is delicious - and I saw way more than I would’ve on my own. The tour was outstanding; adding extra stops and bits of history as we drove through the posted itinerary. I can’t recommend it enough. Our BnB hosts (David) were great, welcoming and kind. The places we stopped at were beautiful and we had just the right amount of time to explore and enjoy. - KWKenn· April 25th, 2025This was the most wonderful experience from start to end in both better appreciating the history of the Highlands, and its outstanding natural features. Great value and accomodation (for most of our group), with tour Leader Graham setting a very high standard in conducting the tour. His knowledge, humour and willingness to make every day a highlight was way beyond what one could wish for, as was his coach driving skills and sense of timing. A big shout out for Graham! Can recommend to anyone thinking of the Scottish Highlands Tour to book with this group.. exceptional value for money!Show moreHighland Experience Tours commented on this reviewHello Kenn, Thank for your 5 start review. Gladly again????Show moreHighland Experience Tours commented on this reviewHi Susanna, We are so pleased that you had such a great time on tour with Paul, and that you would love to travel with him again in the future. - JBJan· September 14th, 2024Our driver/ guide Paul was amazing. His passion and knowledge of Scottish history was second to none and he's such a good story teller. He took us to some really cool places and and always had a story of what had happened there in history. He also gave a a demonstration of Kilt wearing and sword use which people from the other bus tours around us were clearly jealous of and joined in to watch. If I have one complaint it was that we were spread out in different accomodation each night and they were not all of the same standard especially when it came to breakfast. The one I was in on Skye just had boxes of cereal in your room and that was it, which didn't impress me greatly especially when the others talked about their lovely cooked breakfast. It was also a fair walk out of town so dinner wasn't really an option.Show moreHighland Experience Tours commented on this reviewHi there, Thank you so much for your fantastic 5* review! - Danielle· August 20th, 2024Chris was great! Very entertaining! The itinerary was great! Got to see a whole lot of Scotland in 5 days. Except for Inverness, the lodging left a lot to be desired. Oban didn’t have a working shower, and Skye left a bowl of cereal bars and called that breakfast. All were at least 1/2 mile away from food. There were a lot of unforeseen issues on this trip. The ferry caught fire so we had to drive to Skye, and the restaurants were closing by the time we got there. We also had to change buses two times due to company-wide equipment issues!!!Show moreHighland Experience Tours commented on this reviewHi Danielle, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. - VRVerena Rebecca· July 24th, 2024I travelled through Scotland with the best tour guide this country has ever seen. During these five days I had the best history lessons of my whole life. JR is a fantastic tour guide with lots of knowledge, a great sense of humor, always reaching out a helping hand and always being in a good mood. In addition to that, the whole journey was very well organized. We always had enough time for exploring the region, visiting a castle or a town, trying local food and drinks. Also, the accommodations were very good: Tidy, clean and cozy with very friendly staff. Last but not least, JR is a great driver. All the time I felt very safe and very much enjoyed being on the road with him. It might not be the first thing to think of when talking about a journey, but it is indeed important and so I think it should be mentioned. Thank you JR for this very great journey!Show moreHighland Experience Tours commented on this reviewHi Verena, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a kind and detailed review. - DSDebra· July 20th, 2024This tour was wonderful! Our guide/driver, Grahame, was so funny, kind, helpful, informative — everything you want a tour guide to be. We laughed and enjoyed the entire tour. All the hotels were great (except for one which was only marginal, but I told Grahame about it right away). I was in the UK for two weeks and this 5-day tour of Scotland was by far the highlight! We saw all the major sites as well as doing fun and silly things like feeding “coos” (cows). I just cannot praise this tour and our tour guide enough. If I were to go back, this is the tour I would do again and Grahame would be my choice for tour guide. He was amazing! Choose this tour and this company — you won’t regret it!Show moreHighland Experience Tours commented on this reviewHi Debra! It has been a delight to read your very kind and detailed review. Asked on February 12th, 2025I have a question regarding the luggage restriction. I will take a small bag as requested. However, I also have a larger bag that I don't want to take. Where can I leave the larger bag during the trip? Do you have storage facility or advice?
- Highland Experience ToursOperator•Written February 2025
We recommend storing larger luggage at the secure left luggage facility in Edinburgh Waverley Train Station. I am unable to leave URLs on the TourRadar messaging platform so if you Google 'Edinburgh Waverley Train Station Excess Baggage Company' you will find their website and rates.

Asked on January 30th, 2025Can someone reach out to me? I want to book this trip for our family. We are trying to book within that time and need to make sure we can make it to and from London for our flights. We plan to travel from London to Edinburgh by train and I am not sure how long it takes so not sure which dates will work best for us.
- Highland Experience ToursOperator•Written January 2025
Our 5-day Scottish Choice tour will be departing every Monday and Thursday throughout the month of June, so if you arrive on the 11th, there is currently space on our 12th and 16th departures, should that suit your schedule.
- Highland Experience ToursOperator•Written January 2025
Regarding the train from London to Edinburgh, trains run regularly throughout the day, typically every 30-60 minutes, with the journey taking about 4.5 to 5 hours.
- Highland Experience ToursOperator•Written February 2025
Please select the family room option for 5 people and we will place them into two rooms as requested.

Asked on January 11th, 2025Is there a detailed itinerary available for the tour?

Asked on December 1st, 2024I am considering your tour services. I am, however, concerned about the accommodations.
- Highland Experience ToursOperator•Written December 2024
We book Bed & Breakfast Ensuite rooms for you so there is no stress! These would be rooms with a private bathroom, toilet, and shower, with breakfast provided by your accommodation whilst on tour. Your driver-guide will drop you off and pick you up from the accommodation during the tour and your accommodation would be located centrally in the village or town in which you are staying, allowing you to easily access evening meals in nearby restaurants.

Asked on November 26th, 2024What will be the changes in elevation on the bus during the tour? Do all accommodations include coffee and tea with breakfast?
- B
Barbara
Traveler•Written November 2024How far do we have to walk to get lunch and dinner each day?
- Highland Experience ToursOperator•Written November 2024
The changes in elevation will not be too extreme. The elevation of Edinburgh is 47m, and Inverness is 13m. On Isle of Skye, the highest elevation might be 540m during a photo stop at the Quiraing. At Glen Coe, the average elevation would be around 300m. Accommodation will include breakfast and there should be a kettle in every room to make tea or coffee. Most B&Bs will offer hot drinks in the morning.
- Highland Experience ToursOperator•Written November 2024
You will be dropped off directly at a lunch stop so you will not have to walk far at all. For dinner, you will be staying in central locations each night and restaurants will be located very close by. You will be able to find options at a 5-10 minute walk.
- B
Barbara
Traveler•Written November 2024If we don't want to walk to dinner (if it's raining), are there ride share or taxis available?
- Highland Experience ToursOperator•Written November 2024
For most stops on the tour, you should have no trouble using local taxi services. However, in more remote locations like Skye, transportation options can be more limited. All accommodation is booked in central areas, within walking distance of dining options.
