Stephen B was our tour guide and he was excellent. The only thing that might have been better was I would have liked to hear more of his stories and anecdotes as he was very entertaining.

Hugh is a guide I will always remember of. He is very professional and passionate about Scotland and loves sharing with people the marvels of the region. He genuinely cares about the people and is perfect in the organisation (some may say no surprise to adjust to any circumstance for a military man). Our group was also very proud and honored when he was playing the bagpipe. That was very moving and I feel really grateful to have visited Scotland in such a heartwarming tour.

The guide Paul S . Was great the best part of the Jacobite trip was videoing it going over the viaduct. The train ride itself was very disappointing, There was nothing special about it, it should at least been themed to excite the passengers but nothing said this is Jacobite. I will not recommend this to anyone. The tour group and guide were awesome but I give the ride a 2.

The tour was a great way to see a bit of Scotland without the stress of driving it ourselves. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the points of interest and kept us learning the whole time. He introduced us to some local musicians we would never have found on our own and we listened to them as we drove through the Highlands. I would suggest dropping the tourists in a town that has a bit more going on than Fort Augustus, but other than that, it was a good tour.

Our tour guide driver John was excellent. The sites were excellent, the only issue was finding somewhere to eat in St Augustus after 9pm. Unfortunately one of the large restaurants was closed for the night we arrived

    • Highland Experience ToursOperatorWritten March 2025

On this tour we don't stop at Drumnadrochit, however we will stop at the pretty village of Fort Augustus. This village sits on the southern shores of Loch Ness, so you'll have plenty of time and some fantastic vantage points to try to spot to the elusive monster, Nessie. Depending on availability, there may be the option to join a cruise here if you'd like to explore further. Due to the size of our vehicles, on our multi-day tours, we guarantee to carry one piece of luggage per passenger of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm, with a maximum of 15 kg. This is equivalent to hand luggage allowed in an aircraft cabin, or one larger suitcase – up to a maximum of 30kg between two travellers. Due to the limited space available on our mini coaches, we are unable to guarantee that we would be able to carry larger suitcases than this. In addition to this one piece of stored luggage, you can also each bring one piece of carry-on luggage with you, this would usually be a small backpack to carry your essentials for the day. Unfortunately, we do not have any space available at our departure points to store larger items of left luggage. Should you have larger suitcases or luggage, there are left luggage offices at the train and bus stations in Edinburgh. Our departure point is a short walk (5-10 minutes) from these locations.
