The highlight was definitely the safari in Yala National Park, and the scenic train ride from Nuwara Eliya to Kandy. The historical sites fascinated, especially the stories behind the rock carvings and ancient cities. Our guides was patient and very good at engaging with the facts. The train ride to Kandy was a major attraction the views were straight out of a postcard. Hotels had comfortable. The driver was friendly and made drives smooth. The group was small and friendly, and the guide made everyone feel included. I especially enjoyed the sacred temples in Kandy and the peaceful vibes of Nuwara Eliya. The driver was super punctual and navigated the mountain roads. Hotels were comfortable. It was my first time in Sri Lanka, and it left me with a lot of respect for the country heritage. Galle’s colonial streets were super romantic, and the hotel there had a beautiful sea view. Yala gave us a taste of the wildlife we even saw elephants and crocodiles. The guide was kind and gave us space when we wanted downtime, which we really appreciated. The driver was respectful and always helpful. Sri Lanka is such a warm and welcoming place. One mentioned having a great week when the tour is a fortnight. Frequent mentions of appreciation of "the services" is not encouraging.
