- Matt· September 3rd, 2024The Uganda portion was excellent. Great guides, good food, no complaints other than it involves a lot of driving, but of course there's no way around that unless you fly on your own. Highly recommend Acacia for the portion they operate. Unfortunately the local operator they used for the Mara was pretty miserable. The vans they used were incredibly uncomfortable and woefully inadequate for the terrain. We missed some viewing opportunities because of how slow they drove. Unless Acacia starts using operators with better vehicles I cannot recommend doing the Masai Mara portion with them, you would be better off booking your own.Show more
- Sondre· January 2nd, 2019Great tour guide (Crispen) and great driver (Ben)! I experienced a lot of new things, and both Crispen and Ben learned me so many new things. They led us to incredible animals, beautiful landscapes and they made the journey both interesting and comfortable. Two amazing persons, whom I recommend to everyone elseShow more
- Oliver· August 1st, 2018Crispin is an energetic, enthusiastic and flexible tour guide who is always happy to answer all your questions. My trip to Africa would not be as great as it is if it wasn't for him.Show more

Asked on June 12th, 2023what is the best option to deal with having a suitcase when i arrive in africa? Is there somewhere I can store it for the duration of the trip? Or is it normal for people to travel with a suitcase vs. backpack?
- Acacia Adventure HolidaysOperator•Written June 2023
We dont really have a weight limit - although of course the airlines do, usually 23kg max on an economy air ticket - our usual rule is if you can carry it then it's OK to bring. When you are on tour you get your own locker approx dimensions 700mm deep,x 550mm wide x 280mm high where you put your belongings. A soft sided bag or backpack is best.

Asked on March 18th, 2023What other departure cities are possible?
- Acacia Adventure HolidaysOperator•Written March 2023
If LVI Airport in Zambia is not an option, you could do a cross-border transfer into Zimbabwe and fly out from Victoria Falls Airport (VFA). Alternatively you could continue with the tour through Zambia and Zimbabwe southward to end in Pretoria, South Africa.

Asked on November 20th, 2017What is the Adventure Pass?
- Acacia Adventure HolidaysOperator•Written November 2017
Every Acacia Overland tour has an Adventure Pass which is paid to your tour leader in Africa at the beginning of the tour (or pre-paid by arrangement prior to your tour). This is separate and in addition to the Tour Price, and covers selected park entries, activities and excursions along the way where payment goes directly to the supplier to ensure local suppliers benefit directly from the income.
