We were a bit unlucky with the weather, and I would have liked to have a bit more time up at the top, as the effect of the thin air on me made my up-hill progress fairly slow. The climb was physically very challenging, but provided a great sense of achievement and the views at the top were absolutely breathtaking.Show more

This tour does not include an arrival transfer. It can be pre-booked through us for $15 per person (shared between two people). We cannot say for certain what the speed of the hiking will be everyday but we can note the following about the hike plan per day. The guide will set the pace for the group and will be aware of needing to go quicker or slower depending on itinerary timing and/or the groups' needs. - Hike Day 1= 5-7hrs, 8km, at 3,272m elevation - Hike Day 2 = summit for sunrise for 3-4hrs and then decline at 5-7hrs. July to Sept are the wetter months in Kota Kinabalu. August tends to be the peak for rainfall, with heavy but often short-lived afternoon storms. Expect humidity to be high, and temperatures around 29–31°C (84–88°F).

December is in the monsoon season so it is not the most popular time to trek due to the heavy rainfall. But we still do offer the trek within this period. The best months to climb mt Kinabalu are February, March and April the dry season. The tour is 5 days long and start in Kota Kinabalu. You can fly directly into Kota Kinabalu International Airport. Yes we can cater for Halal in the major cities, can be more difficult on the trek but you guide will assist in providing you with options. Yes we can cater for Vegetarian. This tour offers the following accommodation and rooming: Hotels (2 nts Twin-share), hostel (1 nt, twin-share), hostel (1 nt, multi-share). All nights except 1 you will be in a twin share room. There will be nights where you will have shared bathroom facilities.
