- BKBlaine· June 15th, 2025This was an excellent trip. We had great encounters, up close, with the wild life and now have our own video documentaries. Momba was an excellent leader who knew the history, geography, culture and politics of the countries which led to very interesting discussions and a better understanding of Africa. We were pleased that Charlie and Sam, the cook and driver were also cheerfully willing to discuss Africa with us. We highly recommend this tour to others.Show moreIntrepid Travel commented on this reviewThank you Blaine for taking the time to share your experience with us on your Vic Falls to Stone Town trip. - AStefan K· September 18th, 2019It was an excellent experience for me and delivered both what it promised and warned me about. Asked on May 5th, 2025Do we bring our own sleeping bags? Are running shoes sufficient or do we need light hiking boots? Do you recommend sandals while travelling and in camp? Do you need local currencies -- are there opportunities to exchange US$ for local currencies if needed? Do you have a list of admission prices for excursions during the trip? I am allergic to tomatoes and peanuts -- you can cook with them as long as you separate out a portion for me before you add the tomatoes or peanuts, or you can make a little side dish for me.
- Intrepid TravelOperator•Written May 2025
You can bring your own sleeping bag if you prefer we recommend a 3-4 season sleeping bag because it can get very cold at night in winter months in desert and mountainous regions. Sleeping bags are also available for hire (if pre-booked). Please reach out to us at least 14 days prior to departure, if you wish to hire one. As this trip includes camping and/or bush walking we highly recommend that you take a pair of comfortable, closed-in walking shoes. Closed-in shoes will help to protect your feet from cuts and scratches when walking through bush/grass-lands, and will also act as a barrier protection in rare cases against bites or stings from dangerous animals in this environment. There will be opportunities to exchange money in the larger cities, you would just need to speak with your guide and they will plan accordingly.

Asked on April 11th, 2025Do we need visas to enter any of the countries? What are the distances and hours of travel on the long travel days? What type of mattresses are provided? Which trip has the most space: May 4 to 20 or May 18 to June 3?
- Intrepid TravelOperator•Written April 2025
As a Canadian passport holder you will need a visa for some of the countries visited on this itinerary. Visa's are the responsibility of the traveler to check and obtain. We will provide any supporting documents needed like Hotel/Itinerary information & letter of invitation. Accommodation on this trip is mainly in two-person canvas dome tents with camping mattresses supplied. Both our 04MAY & 18MAY 2025 departures have roughly the same amount of travelers booked. The 18MAY has the most space but only by 1.
