- MMax· October 22nd, 2025In retrospect this was a wonderful experience which I managed to have even at my age of 86. Victoria Falls was exhilarating. The game drives to see rhinos, elephants, lions, hippos were great. And all of it was at a 3rd of the cost of similar safaris by other companies.Show more

Menachem· September 25th, 2025Victoria Falls was great but only because I purchased an extra visit to the Devil's pool and to a cruise on the zambezi. TourRadar provided nothing but tent lodging. It was a safari only for 3 days when we did game drives and saw the animals. Majority of time were very long drives on very bad dirt roads with horrendous traffic jams. I still enjoyed this unique and demanding experience which I was able to handle even at my age of 86.Show more

Momba was an excellent leader who knew the history, geography, culture and politics of the countries which led to very interesting discussions and a better understanding of Africa. We were pleased that Charlie and Sam, the cook and driver were also cheerfully willing to discuss Africa with us. We highly recommend this tour to others.Show more

Asked on September 3rd, 2025Is the travel company able to book the flights for me if I paid them additional? They would have more experience with it. The disconcerting part is I think there is a long layover in Africa after Heathrow flight in.

Traveler•Written August 2025I am wondering if we should arrive a day early and stay a day later, and if so, what are the lodging options, please? Thanks. I will be flying in and out of Boston.
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written August 2025If you are wanting to stay a few extra days we can arrange additional accommodations for you at our starting and ending hotels. Starting: Victoria Falls Rest Camp Ending: Mizingani Seafront Hotel. Rates will depend on your dates and we can price those out for you once your all booked.

Traveler•Written August 2025Hi, I have looked into the airfare. Question: what happens if a flight is delayed or one misses their flight? How would we catch back up on tour?
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written August 2025If your flight is delayed but you are still able to join on Day 1, we can request the tour leader to leave instructions for you at the hotel desk so you can catch up with the group later. If you arrive on Day 2, you may still be able to join the group depending on your arrival time. In case you need to cancel due to flight cancellations and cannot find an alternate flight, the full cost (100%) will be charged. However, we can provide an insurance letter so you can claim the cost from your insurance provider.

Traveler•Written August 2025Ok, how often are flights delayed? Do you know? Any tips with booking flights?
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written September 2025It's hard to say exactly how often flights get delayed, as it can really vary. A few tips though, leave plenty of time between connections, keep an eye on airline updates, and booking flexible tickets can save some stress if plans change.
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written September 2025We do not handle flight bookings or inquiries. Travelers are required to make their own flight arrangements, including any layovers or connections. If you need guidance on trip starting time or airports for your trip, we'd be happy to provide that information to assist your planning.

Asked on May 5th, 2025Do we bring our own sleeping bags? Are running shoes sufficient or do we need light hiking boots? Do you recommend sandals while travelling and in camp? Do you need local currencies -- are there opportunities to exchange US$ for local currencies if needed? Do you have a list of admission prices for excursions during the trip? I am allergic to tomatoes and peanuts -- you can cook with them as long as you separate out a portion for me before you add the tomatoes or peanuts, or you can make a little side dish for me.
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written May 2025You can bring your own sleeping bag if you prefer we recommend a 3-4 season sleeping bag because it can get very cold at night in winter months in desert and mountainous regions. Sleeping bags are also available for hire (if pre-booked). Please reach out to us at least 14 days prior to departure, if you wish to hire one. As this trip includes camping and/or bush walking we highly recommend that you take a pair of comfortable, closed-in walking shoes. Closed-in shoes will help to protect your feet from cuts and scratches when walking through bush/grass-lands, and will also act as a barrier protection in rare cases against bites or stings from dangerous animals in this environment. There will be opportunities to exchange money in the larger cities, you would just need to speak with your guide and they will plan accordingly.

Asked on April 11th, 2025Do we need visas to enter any of the countries? What are the distances and hours of travel on the long travel days? What type of mattresses are provided? Which trip has the most space: May 4 to 20 or May 18 to June 3?
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written April 2025As a Canadian passport holder you will need a visa for some of the countries visited on this itinerary. Visa's are the responsibility of the traveler to check and obtain. We will provide any supporting documents needed like Hotel/Itinerary information & letter of invitation. Accommodation on this trip is mainly in two-person canvas dome tents with camping mattresses supplied. Both our 04MAY & 18MAY 2025 departures have roughly the same amount of travelers booked. The 18MAY has the most space but only by 1.
