- Day 1
Entebbe
You'll arrive in Entebbe and settle into your hotel for the evening. After getting checked in, take some time to relax and adjust to the new surroundings by the shores of Lake Victoria.

Entebbe to Kibale Forest
After breakfast, your leader gives you a welcome briefing before you head out on a seven-hour drive to Kibale Forest National Park (heavy Kampala traffic might add time). You'll stay at a lakeside lodge near the forest, which is home to 13 primate species, including chimpanzees.

Kibale Forest
An early breakfast gets you ready for a trek into Kibale Forest to track chimpanzees. You'll walk well-maintained trails and hear birds while spotting multiple primate species. After the trek, grab coffee at Cafe Kibale before heading back for lunch. The afternoon takes you to Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary with a community guide to look for birds and monkeys.

Kibale Forest
This morning you have the option of a second chimpanzee trek if you want another shot at seeing them (needs pre-booking due to limited permits). In the afternoon, do a two to three-hour hike around beautiful crater lakes at the forest's edge, exploring the landscapes that make Kibale special.

Kibale Forest to Bwindi
You're traveling seven to eight hours today to Bwindi National Park, heading through Kamwenge and Rukungiri. A picnic lunch breaks up the drive, so you'll stop and eat before continuing on to your destination.

Bwindi
This is a relaxation day at the lodge before the big gorilla trek. Optional activities include the Batwa cultural experience (three to four hours), a forest walk, or the Ride 4 a Woman community program. The lodge provides a picnic lunch, so you can take it easy and prepare yourself mentally.

Landmarks/POIs Bwindi National Park - Day 7
Bwindi Gorilla Trek
You'll track wild mountain gorillas today, which is one of Africa's most emotional wildlife encounters. The trek takes anywhere from under an hour to more than six hours depending on where the gorilla families are located. Trails are steep and slippery through thick bush, so you need reasonable fitness. If you find them, you'll spend about an hour observing these gentle giants up close.

Bwindi
After yesterday's gorilla encounter, you have a free day to rest at the lodge and process the experience. A second gorilla permit is available if you want another trek (must be booked when you reserve the tour). Otherwise, join nearby walks or simply stay at the lodge and relax.

Landmarks/POIs Bwindi National Park - Day 9
Bwindi to Lake Mburo
You're leaving the forests behind and driving about five hours to Lake Mburo National Park. Stop in Kabale near the Rwandan border for lunch along the way. Lake Mburo is Uganda's only place to see zebras, giraffes, and impala together, and you can also spot leopards and over 300 bird species here.

Lake Mburo
Spend your final day doing game drives through Lake Mburo's eastern tracks. Early morning and late afternoon are your best times to see wildlife. The park has acacia woodland, wetlands, grassy hillsides, and rocky outcrops. If you want, try game walks to salt licks, early morning walks, or boat excursions for birdwatching.

Landmarks/POIs Lake Mburo National Park - Day 11
Lake Mburo to Entebbe
You're heading back to Entebbe and Lake Victoria's shores, driving with regular stops to break things up. A picnic lunch is included en route. About 25 miles from Entebbe, you'll visit Mabamba Swamp, which has over 190,000 birds including the globally threatened shoebill stork. You'll arrive in Entebbe by early evening.
