The scenery is absolutely gorgeous and the people were very friendly and inquisitive everywhere we went. For some looking at the destination there might be some trepidation concerning safety issues but no once did I feel unsafe.Show more

The truck goes to the China border, then you'll travel by minibus, trains, buses, and boats. Travelers are advised to pack light as you'll need to move your own luggage between transport modes. The tour leader will assist when possible.

Flights excluding Penang-Medan return flights are not included in the tour price. You will need to budget separately for international flights to and from the trip.

From past traveller feedback, US$150 to US$200 per week should cover costs such as meals out, soft drinks and beers, souvenirs and other general spending. All local transport is included, but international flights are not.

Unfortunately, we don't offer self-drive options. This year, our Central Asia trips are also small group tours. We still have 5 seats left on our 15th June Kyrgyzstan Uncovered trip which is a 16-day trip beginning and ending in Bishkek.
