Itinerary
- Day 1
Quito to Laguna Quilotoa
Start the morning at a local indigenous market in Saquisilí or the historic church in Pujilí, depending on what day you're traveling. From there, you'll drive through the Andean mountains toward Laguna Quilotoa, where the landscape shifts between high peaks and valley views. Once you arrive, you'll stop at a local indigenous home to spend time with residents and learn about their Quichua traditions and daily life. After that, you'll hike down into the crater to see the emerald-colored lake up close. The trail takes you down and then back up, so plan for a couple hours of walking. You'll head back to Quito in the early evening, arriving around dusk or shortly after.
