- ABAndreas· February 9th, 2025The highlight: Visit of the Addo Nationalpark. We saw about 150 elephants near a waterhole. That's true and an unique experience. Even our driver and guide hadn't seen such a great herd of elephants ever. What else is there to report? Very good accommodations, wines and dinners, best co-travellers aged from 32 to 64 years and a good guide and driver. He drove fast - and there were many miles to drive, which of course took a long time. That was not so good about this tour.Show moreTrip date: January 2025

- KPKay· July 13th, 2024From start to finish, my fantastic experience in South Africa was due to the team at Earthstompers Adventures. Prior to the holiday office staff had extreme patience organising the private Cape Town tour to my requirements and the tour guide, Rochelle, immediately realised that I wanted to pack as much as possible into my few days in Cape Town and more than accommodated that with knowledge and good humour. The Garden Route Tour was well designed and the tour guide, Christine, made it fun taking into account the needs of each individual in the group. Her amazing photographic skills maximised every potential opportunity to take photos at scenic and iconic spots. She was a constant source of information throughout the tour and was probably the best tour guide that I have come across in of all of my travels encouraging me to face my fears and do the highest bridge bungy jump. Our group of five solo travellers from all walks of life enhanced the experience and we left the tour one big family! In Cape Town I stayed at the boutique hotel Derwent House which had such an eclectic environment that there was always something different to look at and all of their staff were so friendly that it was a true home from home. The accommodation on the Garden Route tour was incredible, each unique with affable hosts at each. If I meet anyone who wishes to explore the Cape I will certainly be recommending Earthstompers.Show moreEarthstompers Adventures commented on this reviewWow, Kay. Asked on January 20th, 2025How physically challenging is this tour? I am 66 years old and when I entered my age I was told I am not eligible. Do you have any tour options for seniors if I am not able to join this tour?
- Earthstompers AdventuresOperator•Written January 2025
Our group tour is an active tour. The group is a mix of clients and ages can range from 18 to 65. We can accept guests as old as 65, as long as they are fit and healthy enough to enjoy the tour. Our average age on tour is 33. In our experience what tends to tire our older guests out is driving long distances every day, getting in and out of the bus frequently, and carrying one's own luggage. The tour is conducted at a very fast pace, and our reason for setting an upper age limit is so that the group can happily keep up with the pace of the itinerary, however we do handle each enquiry case by case and you are only 1 year older than our upper age limit. Before we proceed, are you comfortable with the following? Can you comfortably walk +- 1.5 hours (5 km) Are you able to frequently get in and out of the vehicle? Are you able to sit in the vehicle approximately 2 hours at a time, as the tour covers quite a distance and stays in a different place each night Are you able to load and unload your luggage from the trailer each day? There are no porters at the accommodation. Do you have any medical or mobility issues? We also have canoeing and hiking as an included activity on tour; would you be able to canoe for 40 minutes one-way and 40 minutes back?

Asked on January 15th, 2025Can this 5-Day Group Garden Route & Addo Adventure Tour end back to Cape Town?
- Earthstompers AdventuresOperator•Written January 2025
This is a one way tour due to time constraints. Going back to Cape Town would add an extra two days at least. It is around a 9 hour drive.

Cassandra
Traveler•Written January 2025Are there any 5-Day Tours that will start and end at Cape Town?
- Earthstompers AdventuresOperator•Written January 2025
We can customize a 5 day tour to return to Cape Town for you. Alternatively you can look at our 6 day tour that returns to Cape Town.

Cassandra
Traveler•Written January 2025Will there be schedule slot for tours during Sept 29 arrival and Oct 7 departure?

Asked on December 19th, 2024will you arrange to pick us up from the place we stay? If so, do you have a guideline e.g. distance, location etc..
- Earthstompers AdventuresOperator•Written December 2024
We will pick you up on Monday morning at the location of your choice in Cape Town central (central business district, Camps Bay, Sea Point, Green Point, Observatory, Rondebosch), or at Cape Town International Airport. Please let us know your pickup address. If you are staying outside of our above pickup range, we ask that you meet up with the tour bus on Monday morning at specific meeting points like Bootlegger Coffee Company, Vida e Café, or Woolworths Waterstone Village. Asked on December 5th, 2024Can you describe 'strenuous' - what are activities that is strenuous
- Earthstompers AdventuresOperator•Written December 2024
This is an active tour and is best suited towards those who like to be on the move, and can comfortably walk, carry luggage, get in and out of the vehicle frequently. The group is a mix between backpackers and guest house clients, and ages can range from 18 to 65. We can accept guests as young as 14 on group tours, as long as they are traveling with a parent or legal guardian; and as old as 65, as long as they are fit and healthy enough to enjoy the tour. Groups range between 4-12 people. Canoeing and hiking are included activities on tour.

Traveler•Written December 2024Am I in or out on this tour? I am a (fit) 69 yr old.
- Earthstompers AdventuresOperator•Written December 2024
The canoeing takes place in Wilderness National Park on the Touw River, generally the river is quite calm. The canoeing is 40 minutes then you park your canoe and do a 2km hike through the forest to a beautiful waterfall. Canoeing is also done in pairs so at least you will have a partner with you and based on your answers we are happy for you to join the tour.

Asked on October 23rd, 2024what kind of accomodation do you offer? I am looking for a private room with bathroom for me and my daughters
- Earthstompers AdventuresOperator•Written October 2024
We offer 2 types of accommodation on our Garden Route Tours, backpackers have more of a social vibe and are better for clients looking for a bit of atmosphere. They usually have a bar or bonfire area. Although backpackers offer a budget price, the standard of backpackers in South Africa is generally high. Guesthouses are a more private, quieter, luxurious experience. Backpacker and guesthouse clients travel together in the same tour vehicle. On day 2 & 4 of the tour both backpackers and guesthouse clients overnight in the same location - a working game farm near Oudtshoorn (Day 2) and a working citrus farm near Addo (Day 4)

Traveler•Written October 2024thank you for sending a list of the hotels. To go back to cape town what do you have to offer? Do you take people to Sanbona?

Traveler•Written October 2024would you mind sending me the information for that tour? is the accommodation similar to this one? and one last question, for the backpacker private option, are the bathrooms shared or private?
- Earthstompers AdventuresOperator•Written October 2024
The backpacker private room does not share bathrooms or toilets with other guests, totally private :)
