Itinerary
- Day 1
Rome
You'll arrive in Rome and get settled into your hotel, giving yourself a chance to shake off travel fatigue. Spend the early part of the day however you'd like, whether that's resting up or taking a quick walk around your neighborhood to get oriented. Later in the afternoon, you'll meet up with your Travel Director and the rest of the group for an overview of what's coming up on the tour.

Rome
A Local Guide takes you through Rome's main sites, starting with the Colosseum and other ancient Roman locations. If you prefer, there's an option to visit the Roman Forum instead. After that, you've got free time to shop or grab lunch at a local trattoria where you can soak in the city's vibe.

Rome to Sorrento
Head down to Sorrento, a resort town perched on cliffs above the Tyrrhenian Sea. You'll have time to wander through town and check out the local markets full of famous lemons from the region. Optional activities include visiting Positano or taking the scenic drive along the Amalfi Coast if you want more exploration.

- Day 4
Sorrento to Assisi
Morning is free to explore around the Bay of Naples however you like. There's an optional guided walk through Pompeii to see the ancient city buried by Mount Vesuvius. Later you'll travel north, pass by the Cassino monastery (a significant World War II location), and arrive in Assisi for a brief orientation of this medieval town.

Assisi to Venice
You'll cross the Apennines and pass through the Emilia-Romagna region, famous for its food like tortellini, mortadella, and parmesan. By afternoon you reach Venice, the Queen of the Adriatic. A gondola ride through the canals is included as your choice experience for the day.

- Day 6
Venice
Take a private launch to St. Mark's Square where you'll see the Bridge of Sighs, Doge's Palace, and the Byzantine St. Mark's Basilica. Next, visit a traditional glassblowing workshop to watch the master artisans in action. Later, you can join the group for dinner on the island of Burano if you're interested.

Venice to Verona to Lake Como to Milan
Travel through the Veneto plains to Verona, where you'll see the ancient Roman Arena and Juliet's Balcony from Shakespeare's story. Then you'll head to Lake Como's scenic shores, a place that's long been popular with wealthy travelers. An optional lake cruise is available if you want to spend more time on the water.

Milan to Pisa to Florence
Stop in Pisa to see the Leaning Tower and the Field of Miracles, where the Baptistery, Cathedral, and Camposanto each represent different stages of life. From there, continue to Florence, the heart of the Renaissance. This evening you can relax or choose to have dinner in the Tuscan countryside instead.

Florence to Rome
A walking tour with a Local Guide covers Florence's major landmarks like the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistery, Giotto's Bell Tower, and the Ponte Vecchio. After, you have time for shopping, especially for Florence's famous leather and gold jewelry. Later you'll travel back to Rome for your final evening, either spending time with new friends or joining an optional sightseeing excursion with dinner and live entertainment.
