In June of this year, along with five other friends, I joined the tour “Pakistan Panorama” knowing I would have a rare look into a region few of us are fortunate enough to explore. But nothing prepared me for the majesty of the scenery, the challenge of driving precipitous mountain roads in the Hunza Valley and, above all, the warm hospitality of the people. Our tour was small and personal. Our local driver-guides made us feel like family friends, not travellers from Australia. Through them we learned about their country on a personal level and through them were prvileged to visit the homes of local mountain families - an experience never to be forgotten. North-Eastern Pakistan is awe-inspiring in its scenery, complex in its history, warm and colourful in its people. Our two weeks there were magic. Penelope Wise, Sydney Australia.

We had the most unforgettable experience exploring the breathtaking beauty of Gilgit Baltistan, all thanks to our incredible guides — Sultan, Aamir, and our driver Jahangir. From the moment our journey began, everything was perfectly planned and effortlessly executed. We visited Skardu, Hunza, and Gilgit, but Hunza truly stole our hearts. One of the most special moments of the trip was when Sultan took us to his village and introduced us to his lovely family — it gave us such a warm, personal insight into local life that we’ll always treasure. The entire team handled the road conditions and any unexpected situations with such ease and professionalism. Whether it was a bumpy stretch or a sudden change in the itinerary, the boys took care of it all without ever letting us worry. And let’s not forget the countless tea stops and refreshing drinks and fruits along the way that kept us going and made the drives even more enjoyable! We’re so grateful for the kindness, hospitality, and care shown by Sultan, Aamir, and Jahangir. They didn’t just guide us — they made us feel like family. Highly, highly recommended!

This was my first time to visit Pakistan. I was curious to learn about the culture, landscapes and people of this country. I was pleasantly surprised to learn about the wonderful centuries-old heritage sites and their history. I had no real idea about their ancient cultures. They clearly hold a high respect for these symbols of their long history. All sites were well-kept and clean, the museums very well curated. I found the Pakistani people friendly, kind and genuinely warm and accepting of us foreigners. While the bus trip from Islamabad to the Hunza region through the Karakoram highway was rather long, it offered the opportunity to observe the regions and landscapes. The Hunza region completely captured my heart. I’ve done my share of traveling (to over 50 countries), but Hunza holds a certain magic that I had not experienced before. The combination of majestic snow-capped mountains, the river, poplar trees and apricot blossoms created a fairy-tale atmosphere. Everywhere you looked was a picture-perfect scene. But the additional ingredient that made the trip a memorable success was the Crossroads Adventure team. Their professionalism and attention to detail was not lost on us, and further, the care and warmth with which they attended to us was so special. I would gladly and readily recommend Crossroads Adventure for your next trip!

Everything was so amazing. I love every single moment about this trip. Flowers everywhere, the people were super friendly, prices were really cheap. And the food was quite good as well, not my taste in food but still so good and easy to eat. The views were spectacular. Definitely be back for Autumn. Much love from Vietnam ❤️.

I would recommend Crossroads Adventure in a heartbeat. I had an exceptional experience with their team who were highly professional, courteous, and attentive. What stood out most was the personalized service and genuine care from the staff. They went above and beyond to accommodate special requests. Case in point : they made sure that the ovo-lacto vegetarian me always had something to eat at every meal. The itinerary was thoughtfully planned, balancing cultural exploration and unique local experiences with two of our guides hosting lunch and tea for us in their own homes respectively. You couldn’t get anything more authentic than that which also showcased Pakistani hospitality perfectly.

The tour to Hunza Valley and Gojal Valley was really fantastic. Beautiful landscape, very well tailored program, guide and driver with good knowledge of the area what enhanced our experience there and both english speaking, very good hotels. Additionally Crossroads Adventures organized a tour at Lahore and region what was another very good experience visiting almost all historical sites, bazaars, the modern area and the traditional show at the border Pakistan / India.

When a trip to Pakistan was first suggested to me, I was not very interested. However, I must admit that the expedition turned out to be one of the most exuberant and exciting trips of my life. Breathtaking landscapes were shown to me by very experienced tour guides, who led me safely and efficiently throughout that wonderful country. I felt at home among the kind people who received me joyously and respectfully. I truly want to return to Pakistan, where the mountains touch the sky and the people have touched my heart. Many thanks to Sultan from Crossroads Adventure , its staff and the guides Murad and Nawaz, who made this adventure unforgettable.

    • Crossroads Adventure OperatorWritten July 2025

Yes, it's absolutely possible to accommodate a single traveller on our group tours. The bus typically arrives in Islamabad on the last day of the tour by 6:00pm, depending on road conditions and weather. We recommend booking a return flight later in the evening or the following day to allow for any unexpected delays.

Safety travelling in Pakistan, Cleanliness, Description into the accommodation, Advice about travelling into mountains and hiking. What I need, should bring or wear in September?

    • Crossroads Adventure OperatorWritten August 2025

Northern Pakistan is generally safe, especially in the regions we operate. We travel in groups with experienced local guides. Accommodation varies depending on location - mix of basic hotels, guesthouses, and mountain lodges. September is an excellent time to visit - clear skies, moderate temperatures. For trekking, we recommend: Layered clothing, comfortable hiking boots, daypack, sun protection, and a reusable water bottle.

Is it possible to cut short day 9 and arrive in Islamabad at 6pm, to catch a flight in the evening or otherwise, a flight the following morning of day 10? Is there flexibility with drivers?

    • Crossroads Adventure OperatorWritten August 2025

Yes, we can adjust Day 9 to ensure you arrive in Islamabad by 6 PM, either for an evening flight or to rest ahead of a morning departure on Day 10. We will coordinate with our drivers accordingly. The price of the tour remains unchanged.

Fly into Islamabad. Take a short flight to Gilgit or Skardu to begin the Hunza Valley & Fairy Meadows tour. After completing the tour, we will arrange transfer from Islamabad to Lahore. In Lahore, we'll organize a guided tour to explore the city's landmarks. You can choose to travel to India by road or fly from Lahore to catch your connecting flight.

    • Crossroads Adventure OperatorWritten August 2024

I recommend witnessing the Wagah Border ceremony from the Pakistan side around 4 PM. We'll need to confirm if crossing the border immediately after the ceremony is possible. If not, attending from the India side might be better, especially since you're planning to stay in Amritsar.
