- FPFrank· September 29th, 2023First tour guide for the first 8 days was great, second tour guide tried hard and seemed lovely as a person, but she was disorganized, oblivious of who was or wasn’t following her, was unaware of where she was going at times, and just didn’t seem like she knew how to do the job. I’m not the only one who felt that way. Your pre trip support was excellent and accommodating, but having taken a number of tours with other organizations, Rick steve’s in Europe, you charge a lot when offering very little. I will not recommend your tour group to anyone, and will most likely discourage others from taking one.Show moreOn The Go Tours commented on this reviewWe are sincerely sorry to note any disappointment in our offerings, and appreciate you taking the time to pass on feedback in this regard.Trip date: September 2023

- RRoyChappell· October 21st, 2018The Tour was excellent, surpassing my expectations. Our guide Yumi was so knowledgeable, attentive and caring that we learnt so much about Japan, it’s people and culture, than we ever would have done as independent travellers. Touring is tiring! You pack so much in! But the tour had ample free time for further exploration or resting for those who needed it. I would certainly recommend On The Go and would use again.Show moreOn The Go Tours commented on this reviewMany thanks for the feedback!Trip date: October 2018

Asked on July 28th, 2024Please provide specific names of the hotels you will be using, How will luggage be transferred each day, How strenuous is the walking segments (surfaces, inclines, steps, etc)
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written July 2024
The list of hotels that we use on this tour you will find on the attached trip notes. Most of the journey you will travel with your luggage. If you would like to travel light from Kyoto to Hiroshima and then to Takayama, you can forward your luggage to Takayama at your own expense. This luggage forwarding service is not included and will incur an additional charge. You will travel with all your luggage from Kyoto to Hiroshima via Himeji. Upon arrival at Himeji, luggage will be stored at the lockers at the train station. After touring Himeji we'll re-unite with our luggage and carry it with us aboard the bullet train to Hiroshima. This tour is not very strenuous or difficult with very moderate pace. The only available departure this year is 26th October, all other departures are fully booked.

Asked on August 26th, 2023I'm jut curious how breakfast is provided on the tour. This tour includes only 7 breakfasts but the tour is for 13 days. Many of the other Japan tours include breakfast each day.
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written August 2023
The hotel that we use in Tokyo does not provide an option for having breakfast included, your guide will be able to make suggestions for you for your breakfasts whilst in Tokyo - once the group leaves Tokyo, breakfasts will be included for you. A couple of additional things to note - I can see that you are travelling with 3 children - are you able to please advise information as to their ages? As our Japan tours involve up to 9km of walking per day, it is not generally recommended for children under 15 years.

Traveler•Written August 2023I have approx 10 Japan tours that I'm currently looking at. I will be selecting the tour based on price. It has to be for a family (many of the trips are for adults only ... ie 18+) ... we are looking for roughly 11 to 15 days ... how many meals are included (at a minimum it has to include all the breakfasts) .... and there are specific places we want to see. At the moment this 13 day tour is down out our list because it doesn't include breakfasts.

Asked on February 26th, 2023Are we able to have all 3 of us share a room? We don't want one of us having to share with a stranger.
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written February 2023
Unfortunately it isn't possible to offer triple rooms on our Japan tours, so we would be looking to book 1 x Twin/Double room, and 1 x Single room. We don't match up solo travellers on our tours, so there won't be any strangers sharing.
