  George was a truly exceptional tour guide. Having lived through Romania's difficult Communist era as a child, his deep understanding of the country's history was palpable. He generously shared his personal experiences of that time, offering us a profound insight into the daily lives of Romanians during those challenging years. His insightful historical context, combined with his extensive knowledge, professionalism, and warm personality, made the tour incredibly enriching. To top it off, George recommended fantastic local restaurants where we could savor authentic Romanian cuisine. I wholeheartedly recommend him!

  We had a great time exploring Romania over 11 days, by using the Classic Romania tour by Rolandia and building some extra days and sights into the plan at the end. We were very lucky to have Traian as our guide and excellent driver, and his knowledge and patience made our whole experience very special. Hotels were 4* and the cities were exceptionally beautiful, particularly around Sibiu and Cluj. The views of snow capped mountains in a clear blue sky were amazing for April and we had no rain at all. We loved the horse and cart ride, traditional lunch and fun dinner which were included. At the end we chose to stay for extra time in Brasov to see the Bear Sanctuary, then climb the mountain (by the cable car) before catching the train back to Bucharest the next day. We also included an afternoon at the huge Therme spa next to the airport before flying home. A great holiday and we were very impressed at the price and quality of our trip. Thank you to all at Rolandia.

  The tour was amazing. The days were full of new sights, not a moment wasted anywhere. We received great accommodations in perfect locations in each town. The transportation was excellent, Rolandia was very generous in what they provided and most importantly, the tour guide, Tavi, was one of its kind. Really recommended to everyone

  Last October, my husband and I had the pleasure of joining the Classic Romania tour. Traveling from Singapore, we were eager to explore Romania's rich history and stunning landscapes, and this tour exceeded our expectations. What made our experience truly memorable was not only the beautifully planned itinerary that took us through Romania's breathtaking nature and charming cities but also the wonderful atmosphere within our group. We found ourselves among highly educated and like-minded travelers, which enriched our journey even further. However, the highlight for us was our tour guide, whose expertise and passion for Romania's history brought the country's story to life in a way we could have never imagined.   The tour was excellent. I would rate it 11 out of 10. Our tour guide George was the best tour guide that we have ever had. Beautiful country and some amazing experiences in a land of contrasts. George and Rolandia could not do enough for us to ensure that we had the trip of a lifetime. Some of the highlights included a home cooked meal and entertainment, a traditional horse and cart ride, stunning castles and churches, quaint villages and amazing scenery wherever you looked. Thank you George and Rolandia. We are already planning a trip back next year.

  i would definately rate this tour in my top 3 for all the tours taken over the years. Tour leader Alex Nisipeanu was very friendly, knowlegeable, patient, a good and safe driver and always early or on time for all the morning pick--ups, etc. Rolandia, iulian, was also prompt with replies and other support/questions before the tour. Romania, with the beautiful cities/towns and countryside. I am stoked to have decided to and gone for this holiday. Would definately recommend Rolandia and Alex for Romania tours.

  I had the pleasure of embarking on a 8-day tour of Romania with the esteemed tour company, Rolandia, earlier this year. My husband and I were thrilled to explore the charming regions of Transylvania and Maramures and indulge in the expertise of the Rolandia team. From start to finish, our tour was an exceptional experience that exceeded our expectations. Maramures is a region in Romania that is known for its stunning natural beauty and unique culture. The highlight of our tour was the traditional wooden churches that dot the countryside. These UNESCO World Heritage Sites are an incredible sight to behold, with their intricate carvings and vibrant paintings. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and significance of these churches, and we were left in awe of their beauty. Another unforgettable experience was visiting the Merry Cemetery in the town of Sapanta. This vibrant cemetery is unlike any other in the world, with colorful tombstones that tell the stories of the deceased in a humorous and lighthearted way. Our guide shared with us the fascinating history and traditions behind this unique cemetery, and we were left with a deep appreciation for the customs and culture of Maramures. Throughout our tour, we also had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in local experiences. We visited traditional markets where we sampled delicious local cheeses and meats, and we learned about the traditional crafts of the region, such as woodcarving and weaving. These experiences allowed us to truly connect with the local people and gain a deeper understanding of the culture and way of life in Romania. What really stood out to us was the expertise and passion of the Rolandia team. Our guide was not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also went out of their way to ensure that we had the best possible experience. They took us to off-the-beaten-path locations that we never would have found on our own, and their enthusiasm for the region was infectious. Overall, our tour in Romania with Rolandia was an exceptional experience that we will always treasure. The combination of stunning natural beauty, unique cultural experiences, and expert guidance made for a truly unforgettable trip. We highly recommend this tour company to anyone looking to explore the charming regions of Maramures and Transylvania in Romania.

  George, our guide was fantastic. Very personal and knowledgeable. Chatted, got to know him. Wonderful. Our driver.. wow... Amazing to watch him navigate. Felt safe the whole day. He never was speeding or driving unsafely. Thanks so much. All the activities were great. Accommodation was spot on. Highly recommend this tour.
