Itinerary
- Day 1
Bucharest
Your guide meets you at Bucharest airport or the railway station and takes you to your hotel. Once you've settled in, spend the rest of the day checking out the city's main spots like the Arch of Triumph, Victory Square, and Revolution Square. You'll also see Cotroceni Palace and the Palace of Parliament, then walk through Lipscani Street to get a sense of what old Bucharest feels like.

Bucharest to Sibiu
After breakfast, you'll head out toward Sibiu, driving through Pitesti and the Olt Valley with the Carpathian mountains around you. When you arrive, you'll explore Sibiu's medieval citadel, checking out the Fortifications, Large Square, Smaller Square, Huet Square, and the Council Tower. The Evangelical Cathedral has a 6000-pipe organ that's worth seeing. Before the evening, cross the historic Bridge of Lies and then settle in for the night.

Medias - Biertan - Sighisoara
Starting with breakfast, you head to Medias, the birthplace of Hermann Oberth (father of the Apollo 13 space program), and see the citadel there. From there, it's on to Biertan to visit a 15th-century fortified church that was a bishop's residence for over 300 years. The day finishes in Sighisoara where you'll tour the 12th-century Saxon citadel, see the Clock Tower, Dracula's birth house, and the Covered Staircase. You'll have free time to wander around the citadel on your own.

Sighisoara to Gura Humorului (Bucovina)
This morning you head toward Bucovina, stopping in Bistrita to tour this medieval 12th-century city. Later you arrive at Gura Humorului, where you'll stay for the next two nights. Your first evening includes dinner at your accommodation.

Bucovina Monasteries
After breakfast, you're exploring the UNESCO-listed Moldavian Monasteries. Voronet Monastery is known for its blue frescoes from the 15th century and they call it 'The Sixteen Chapel of the East in blue.' At Moldovita Monastery, a nun talks about monastic life there. Then you visit Sucevita, called the 'Pearl of the Moldavian Monasteries,' and stop at a ceramics workshop in Marginea to see traditional crafts being made.

Gura Humorului to Brasov
After breakfast, visit Agapia Monastery, Romania's largest nuns' monastery, to see the unique interior frescoes. Then you head toward Transylvania through the spectacular Bicaz Gorges with steep limestone cliffs rising 300 meters and dramatic twists for 5 kilometers. You'll see the Red Lake, Romania's largest natural mountain lake. Before reaching Brasov, stop at Prejmer's fortified church and take a short walk on the battlement parapet to see the 'Death Organ.'

Sinaia - Bucharest
After breakfast, you visit Dracula's Castle and then head to Brasov for a city tour that includes the Council Hall, Black Church (entrance is included), Weaver's Bastion, and the Black and White Towers. You'll also explore the Schei Quarter. Later in the afternoon, you drive to Sinaia to see the summer residence of the Romanian royal family, a modern palace built in the late 19th century. The evening takes you back to Bucharest.

After breakfast, you're transferred to Bucharest airport or the train station. Say goodbye to your guide and start your journey home.
