- LALynn· February 21st, 2025Excellent short break! It was good to have the afternoon and evening before the Tour began to do some exploring of Reykjavik. Hotel for 1st & 4th nights was basic. Although clean, the room was very small. Breakfast was ample. What our customers ask about this tour
The content in our FAQ section is subject to change.- R

Asked on March 27th, 2025Would we be able to see the northern lights in October. Also, we are traveling with family and taking our mother who is older and has always wanted to see the northern lights. Will there be options for this?
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written March 2025
The best viewing for the Northern Lights are typically between January - March and November - December are the best months to visit Iceland, whilst you will also get good viewing during February - March and September - October. Assuming your mother has a reasonable level of fitness there is no reason to believe that she wouldn't enjoy herself on tour.

Asked on January 14th, 2025I can see from the information you provide that there are 2 times included where the guide is helping us to look for the northern lights. During these opportunities would the tour guide decide on where we see them based on the forecast or is the location fixed?
- M
Matt
Traveler•Written January 2025If we are to check availability and complete the form how quickly will you be able to tell us that the places are confirmed or not? This would be for spaces in February this year.
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written January 2025
We will be ready to confirm availability within 24 hours or quicker depends when you will let us know which tour you are consider joining. Much of Iceland offers a very a good chance to see the northern lights when conditions are right, and you're in the right place. The tour is designed to maximise your chances by staying in locations with minimal light pollution and providing information on how to best photograph the lights. The northern lights are in the northern sky from September through April but are only visible when the sky is clear and free of clouds. Remember – the northern lights are natural phenomena so sightings are not guaranteed.

Asked on January 13th, 2025I am looking at the two 5-day Northern Lights tours and see that there are a few main differences. One uses cabins and the other uses 3 star hotels. Can you tell me the names of the 3 star hotels? Another difference is fully guided and partially guided. Where are those differences? And finally, why does the "Comfort" tour not have any reviews?
- On The Go ToursOperator•Written January 2025
Both options include the services of an English-speaking guide throughout. The only difference between them lies in the accommodation. For the standard version, the hotels are: Cabin Hotel, Hotel Stracta. For the comfort version, the hotels are: Hotel Klettur, Hotel Stracta (with an upgraded room type).
