I’m a couple of months late on this review, but I just couldn’t let my Iceland trip with GAdventures slip by without sharing my experience! I went with my then-boyfriend during Valentine’s week, and it was truly an unforgettable adventure.
First of all, Lili – our guide – was an absolute gem. She was so sweet, thoughtful, and had the cutest French accent. What amazed me the most was how she managed to juggle so many roles throughout the trip. She wasn’t just a tour guide; she was our driver, our certified emergency medic, our history buff, and even our personal chef, whipping up simple meals for us. From the very start, Lili set the tone for the trip, sharing her inspiring story of how she ended up moving to Iceland permanently. By the end of the trip, it was easy to see why she fell in love with this magical place.
Speaking of Iceland, wow, what a stunning country. It’s so different from the US in the best ways – no military, no guns, and just this peaceful vibe that’s hard to explain (even in the cities!). The landscapes are straight out of a dream, with breathtaking glaciers, hydrothermal geysers, and the clearest water that you can even drink straight from your bathroom tap. We also finally got to see the Northern Lights, which was everything, and the Blue Lagoon was the cherry on top.
One of the most inspiring parts of the trip was seeing how deeply Icelanders care about sustainability and protecting their environment. It’s such a refreshing change from what we’re used to, and it really made me reflect on how we could do more to preserve our planet. If only we could take a page from their book!
Now, about the Northern Lights… While the trip was amazing overall, I do wish there had been more focus on actually finding the Lights. The tour was titled "Iceland Northern Lights & Golden Circle," so I thought we'd be chasing them every chance we got. But unfortunately, there wasn’t much emphasis on it. Lili was incredible in getting us to all the other destinations, but with the Northern Lights being such a highlight of the trip, I expected a bit more effort to make sure we caught them. In the end, we ended up booking a separate tour to hunt for them, and some of the other members of our group got lucky with clear skies and shared their beautiful pictures with us. My boyfriend, determined to see them up close, even rented a car for a late-night adventure on our last night to find the Lights. He did, and it was definitely worth it!
All in all, this trip was amazing, and I’d highly recommend GAdventures. I’ll absolutely consider booking with them again, but I’d make sure to double-check that the trip’s focus aligns with the experience I’m looking for.
Definitely a trip of a lifetime!

Had an amazing time in Iceland with our tour guide Lili, she was amazing! Super driver, cook and tour guide. Only downside I would say was that the tour is advertised as a northern lights tour, but this is more of a self serve activity, there isn’t any excursions to help see them. Although Lili did help give us recommendations where we could spot them in Reykjavík.

For technically only 3 days of tour activities, we were able to see and experience many different things. Funny and knowledgable tour guide.

We had an awesome time in Iceland! Our tour guide, Herdis, was very kind and helpful! The tour allowed us to visit national parks, rural farms, craters, explore lava caves, see the beaches, visit waterfalls and more! We learned a lot about Iceland, got to explore the city of Reykjavík, and met great people. Herdis taught us about the culture and history of Iceland and gave us opportunities to try local bakeries, restaurants, and smaller markets to try Icelandic foods and cuisine. We were even lucky enough to catch the Northern Lights on our last day there! Loved it, can't wait to go back!

Thank you for sharing your experience in Iceland with us, Einstein! It truly is a magical place. We hope to welcome you on another adventure in the near future!
Ronan was an excellent guide. He is knowledgeable, full of energy, and seems to genuinely enjoy the tours and Iceland. He is able to pull the entire group together so it feels like a family by the end of the trip. All of the activities were excellent and the selected restaurants were great. The days are jam-packed with activities and sites to see, so it isn’t the most relaxing vacation if that is what you are looking for. Iceland was beautiful and we are glad we got to visit. We did see the Northern Lights during the first week of April, but they were somewhat faint behind the clouds. Ronan creates such a fun and unique trip that the Northern Lights become an afterthought by the end.

It was only our 2nd tour with G Adventures but it ranks up there as one of the top tours we?ve ever been on over the years. The group, the guide and the itinerary all combined to make a short tour so memorable. I really feel like we got our money?s worth taking this tour with G as well as the best use of our travel time. Thank you!
