Arrival in Kathmandu
Your flight into Tribhuvan International Airport gives you views of snow-capped mountains as you descend toward Kathmandu. After landing, your tour coordinator will meet you and arrange your transfer to the hotel. The drive takes you through the Kathmandu Valley, and you'll get your first sense of the city's layout and energy as you settle in for the evening.

Kathmandu
This morning you'll walk through Durbar Square with its stone-paved lanes and colorful markets, checking out temples that show different architectural styles from various periods. From there, you'll head to Pasupatinath temple, then continue on to Bouddhanath Stupa and Swoyambhunath Stupa. After lunch, the day includes stops in Bhaktapur and Patan. You'll see a lot of history and culture packed into one day, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water.

Kathmandu to Dhunche
Leave Kathmandu early this morning and drive toward Dhunche, heading into the trekking region. The scenic drive takes several hours, passing through different elevations and landscapes. You'll arrive in Dhunche by afternoon and have time to rest and prepare for trekking that begins tomorrow. The town sits at roughly 1,900m/6,200 feet elevation, so take it easy and hydrate well.

Dhunche to Shin-Gompa
After breakfast, you'll trek through gentle climbs up a beautiful valley and forest toward Shin-Gompa, which sits at 3,350m/11,000 feet. The trail takes you through varied terrain with views of Himalayan ranges opening up as you gain elevation. You'll see small settlements and pass through different forest zones. By evening, you'll reach Shin-Gompa and settle in for the night at this higher altitude.

Shin-Gompa to Gosaikunda
This is a more challenging trekking day, so eat well at breakfast before starting. You'll trek upward through rocky meadows in the Lauri Binayak valley, crossing narrow cliff trails and passing Saraswati and Bhairav Lakes along the way. The trail reaches Holy Gosaikunda Lake at 4,380m/14,370 feet, a sacred site for both Hindu and Buddhist devotees. The Himalayan views from here are significant, and you'll camp near the lake tonight. The altitude is high, so move at a steady pace and listen to your body.

Gosaikunda Valley
You have free time today to rest and let your body acclimate to the 4,380m/14,370 feet elevation. Spend the day around Gosaikunda Valley, taking short walks if you feel up to it or simply resting at camp. Many trekkers use this day to explore the sacred lake area, meditate, or chat with other trekkers. Proper acclimatization here helps prevent altitude-related issues as you continue higher tomorrow.

Gosaikunda to Ghopte
Start early and trek across Lauribinayak Pass at 4,610m/15,125 feet, the highest point on this route. From there, you'll descend through beautiful rhododendron forest into a valley, eventually reaching Ghopte at 3,450m/11,320 feet. The downhill section gives your knees a workout, so take your time. You'll see snowy mountain peaks throughout the day, and the forest scenery changes as you lose elevation. Rest well tonight after this long day.

Ghopte to Tharepati
After breakfast, trek through highland terrain heading toward Tharepati at 3,690m/12,105 feet. The route passes through areas with Sherpa and Tamang villages, giving you a chance to see how local communities live in these mountains. Buddhist culture is visible in prayer flags, stupas, and local practices. The Himalayan views continue to be exceptional. You'll have time to walk around Tharepati this evening and talk with locals if you want.

Tharepati to Kutumsang
Trek down through the Helambu valley, a lush area known for its vegetation and small settlements. You'll reach Kutumsang at 2,460m/8,070 feet, a tiny village famous among trekkers for its sweet apples. The elevation drop means warmer temperatures and denser forests. This village has a relaxed feel, and you can wander around to see the Buddhist culture that defines the area. The air feels noticeably warmer after spending days at higher elevations.

Kutumsang to Chisapani
After breakfast, trek through Mulkharka village and then enter Shivapuri National Park, where rhododendron, oak, and pine forests create a varied landscape. You'll walk through the park with mountain views appearing periodically as the trail winds through vegetation. By afternoon, you'll reach Chisapani. The trek this day is moderate in difficulty and mostly downhill. Take time to enjoy the forest environment before reaching this stopping point.

Chisapani to Kathmandu
Trek down to Sundarijal, where your trekking ends and a vehicle will meet you for the drive back to Kathmandu. The drive takes about an hour depending on traffic. Once you arrive, you'll check into your hotel to rest and recover from the trekking portion. By evening, you can shower, change into clean clothes, and spend time relaxing or getting a massage if your muscles need attention.

Kathmandu
You have the full day free in Kathmandu to do whatever feels right. Rest at your hotel, wander the streets on your own, grab lunch at restaurants you missed before, or sign up for optional activities like pottery classes or cooking lessons. Many travelers use this day to buy souvenirs, visit museums, or just sit in a café and watch city life happen around them. The choice is yours.

Departure
Head to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight home. Depending on your flight time, you'll either have a quick breakfast at the hotel or grab something at the airport. The drive to the airport takes about 20 minutes from central Kathmandu. Check in, go through security, and reflect on your trekking adventure as you wait for departure.
