    · May 14th, 2024
I had a stressful start as I was given the wrong flight time to meet up with the group for the transfer to our start city of Matera. After hanging around the airport to catch a shuttle, my tour guide turned up at the correct time to meet the rest of the group. After that the cycle tour was amazing. Well organised, great accommodation, fabulous guide & support staff. I iopted for an ebike which I am glad of as there was some mean hills but great views. The countryside is spectacular. I highly recommend this tour.

The group was too large for one leader. A volunteer from the group had to do the sweep at the end. Simple repairs like a tire change couldn't be done en route. Meals consisted of too much bread and didn't take advantage of local cuisine

Great trip. I should have gotten the electric bike. The hills were too difficult for me and a couple of the distances too long. I rode in the van a bit on 3 of the days. Fantastic guide and enjoyable travel companions. I do wish we started earlier in the morning so we would get to destination earlier in the day.

Antinio was a good & attentive guide and made sure we rode safely. The side roads were a little hazardous with pot holes that required concentration and anticipation to avoid. Water supply from the van was warm. Could have been kept cool which would have been great given the hot days. We had 4 picnic lunches with the van guy Pietro setting these up. In hindsight maximum of 2 would be better asc there were plenty of options for lunches in cafes etc.

  • R

    Rita

    Asked on August 9th, 2024

I will possibly be joining the tour as a solo traveler. I have noted that numerous companies charge an additional fee if you don't share a room. Please explain why. If you book a double room it should not matter if one person or two are in the room. Also, if a friend does join me we (two men) would want a room with two beds not even a large double that a married couple would share. Would my friend and I be guaranteed two beds?

    Accommodation
    Single supplement
    • Exodus Adventure TravelsOperatorWritten August 2024

The price of this tour is based on two travelers per room. As a solo traveler you can join a twin share (male) room for the standard tour price of CA$3705.00 or you can choose to pay a single supplement of CA$684.00 to have your own room. If you would like to travel with a friend you can share a twin room and there would be two separate beds in the room.
