The itinerary was good. There are several suggestions I’d like to make. Please make it clear that travelers usually are not dropped off at the door of the hotels; usually luggage had to be brought several blocks from the drop-off point to the hotel entrance. More detail on the excursions should be included in the itinerary published on your website. For example, the kayak experience was 3 hours long; this is a consideration for some on whether to participate. Also, the boating/swimming day was too long. It used up the entire day, with a prolonged lunch break, and a second swimming stop that could possibly be excluded. Again, this left no free time in Hvar.

Five stars for the tour guide Szebastian; very attentive and is available to answer questions and offer great options on things to do. The itinerary is pretty laid back; a mixture of culture, beautiful streets, history, museums and lots of fortress views. I liked long walks around the various cities which was easy in these cities of the balkan countries. The optional Speedboat excursion in Hvar was worth it and I really enjoyed kayaking in Kotor. Visiting in April/May had sunny skies and clear skies but still kinda cold in the water. Overall, good hotels and good guidance but wished they included more natural parks and landscapes as an excursion from bosnia or from belgrade.

Overall the trip was amazing. Our guide Karin was knowledgeable and personable. The itinerary would have been better if there was an extra day in Kotor (all of the group loved this destination) and Budapest. Also taking the ferry in the afternoon from Dubrovinik felt like a waste of a day. The choice of a hotel far away from the old city meant that most people didn't go back into town on the travel day and we arrived in Hvar too late to really make the most of that location. I would like to suggest that this itinerary should have a morning ferry. Also the accommodation in Split was not good, too far away from the city making travel into town difficult or expensive. Furthermore, you couldn't use the hotel pool unless you paid $22 Euro and also when we had to leave for an early flight and they had provided a breakfast box, they didn't want us to fill up our travel coffee mug but rather pay for a coffee at reception. Breakfast box had a plain bread roll with no filling, some pate but no way to put it on the bread unless you used your finger and yoghurt with no spoon. This hotel should not be used and there should be an option within the old city or very close to the centre. Overall it was a good experience but the couple of poor hotel choices was very disappointing. There was a good mix of activities and free time for people to go their own way. Karin was very helpful with suggestions.

I really enjoy planning my own trips but I take a break from that occasionally in order to do trips like this because I really appreciate having someone to handle logistics and translation for me. I also like the flexibility of being able to go solo or go with the group on any given day.

The travellers are very interested in this adventure and booking it for next summer, they were however wondering if you could divuldge if you will be making some larger Black Friday discounts on these trips as the dates of the Black Friday get closer or if this is the best price they will get?

    • G AdventuresOperatorWritten November 2024

Our current Cyber Sale is our biggest sale of the year. We recommend booking now as this is likely the best price they will get before their departure. Some tour may go on sale closer to departure for a last minute booking, but by that time flight prices will be much higher.
