Asked on June 9th, 20251. Accommodation Confirmations: How do I obtain the printed confirmations of accommodations booked through TourRadar? Since the first night is spent in a tent, how is the accommodation confirmation handled? Are we in a camping zone that provides such confirmations? Or does your company have special arrangements for this?
- D
Derek
Traveler•Written June 20252. Tent Arrangements: Who is responsible for bringing the tent; the traveler or the organizer? Is the rental of a tent included in the price of the trip? I do not own a tent and do not intend to buy one for a single use and for just one night.
- D
Derek
Traveler•Written June 20253. Clothing Recommendations: I have read on various websites that between July and August, I can expect very hot temperatures. I was wondering if sleeveless shirts or short shorts (above the knee) are appropriate for a solo female traveller, or if you would recommend more modest clothing.
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written June 2025
For the camping, all equipment will be provided to you. You won't need to bring your own tent. This is included in the price of the trip.
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written June 2025
Sleeveless shirts and short shorts (above the knee) are appropriate for a solo female traveller. However, please bear in mind, that if you decide to visit any religious areas during the trip, you might be expected to cover up and wear more modest clothing.

It appears that Swiss citizens can travel for up to 30 days visa free in China. You can read more about that by visiting the visaforchina website.

Asked on April 18th, 2025Do you pick up travellers from the airport on arrival? For this tour where does the journey begin, what time do we need to meet?
- S
Samantha
Traveler•Written April 2025for this tour do we fly into Beijing Capital or Baijing Daxing?
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written April 2025
The trip begins in Beijing on Day 1. The meeting time is confirmed closer to the departure date and your adventure leader will make you aware of this in the group chat you're invited to. You usually arrive at The Great Wall of China for around 14:00. It's entirely up to you which airport you'd prefer to fly into. We can organise airport transfers for an additional cost.

Asked on May 11th, 2024Is it safe for a family with small children to do a Great Wall hiking and camping experience?
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written May 2024
May I know how fit you and your wife with two little kids to hike and camp on the Great Wall? We want to find a good Great Wall section for you.
- D
Danielle
Traveler•Written May 2024Both me and my wife are reasonably fit. We are used to trekking from time to time. Our children love to walk and adventure. The most important for us is just to make sure that the hike is safe for them while having the experience in sections of the wall that are more wild and not touristic.
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written May 2024
The itinerary includes: Pick up at 8:30 from your hotel, drive 2hrs to Gubeikou Great Wall. Hike over 3hrs to lunch spot. After lunch, hike another 2hrs to camp site. Dinner with camp site owner. Stay overnight next to the Wall.
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written May 2024
The trip price includes: Private English speaking hiking guide, Private transfer (7-seater car), Camping gears including 2-ppl tent, sleeping bag and mattress, Dinner and simple Chinese breakfast at guesthouse near camping site. Does not include: Lunches, personal expenses, tips to guide and driver.

Asked on April 13th, 2024Is the trip doable for less mobile persons? My wife can take some steps but uses a wheelchair (with electric 3rd wheel)
- The Dragon TripOperator•Written April 2024
Unfortunately, as the trip includes trekking to the Great Wall in a remote area that does not have easy access and we cannot guarantee the hostels will have lifts for wheelchair access - we don't think this tour would be suitable for you.
